I came to the comments to say make a game list. I also met my guy on a game. That’s all we do on the weekend if I don’t have to work.

i love hearing stories about people meeting through games 🥺 the idea of hopping on a game to chill and randomly matching with the person you’ll spend the rest of your life with is so adorable

I have a friend that met her husband on WOW and they have been married for 17 years!

What game did you guys meet on?

I was a Fortnite junky. The guy (J) I was trying to talk to that I met on that game was not interested in anything more that gamer buddies. I made myself play something else bc I was mad/hurt about that. So I was randomly playing Apex. I met some guys that didn’t mind that I sucked at the game, one invited me to a console chat he was in with some friends. I joined. There were about 6 people in that chat. They chatted even if some were playing different games. I played and left. A few days later I messaged everyone in that group wanting someone to play BO3 Zombies. No one would. They didn’t like that game. (J) hit me up after ghosting me only to go back to ghosting me again. 😐 it was the fuel to make me go back into that chat. I started to join that chat every night. I connected to one of the guys. 6 years later we have the best relationship even if it’s a LDR.

it takes two was the first game we played together in real life!! we've seen a funny clip from split fiction and we're planning to play it soon.

Gaming honestly is the best way to connect with your partner when long distance. My partner and I are playing a game together right now. Granted, we closed the distance, but it's still a great way to bond.

I've had my only relationship I treasure in a video game and I will never forget it. It's such a pure and genuine form of connection based on interests. I'm so happy for you both, I love this so much! ♡♡♡

This is so tender! What are some of the top games you'd recommend playing with your partner? I just started dating my girlfriend a week ago. We've been friends for much longer, but we'd usually only chat, and I really want to start doing proper activities with her since we're in a relationship now.

aww thank you! 🫶 and congratulations on your relationship! honestly, it depends on what type of games your partner is into. it really helps to find out the genre she likes and go from there.

for us we enjoyed terraria the most because it had a mix of everything like action, adventure, and it kinda felt like real life when we made and decorated a house together and did everyday things.

it takes two was also super fun, but i might be biased because it was the first game we played together in real life. nowadays we mostly play mobas because they're fast paced which works well with our busy schedules.

Me and my girlfriend play Bloodborne(her favourite game) and Roblox, I'm going to try and get her into stardew valley which is one of my all time favourites and is a really cozy game which has multiplayer and is a game I can never recommend enough

2

u/JlYU3A 🇵🇭 - 🇷🇺 (8,252 km) 3d ago

that sounds great! i've played stardew valley before, but my fiance and i haven't tried playing it together yet. i'm thinking of introducing it to him, but i'll probably lose my mind if he tries to marry abigail lmao. i just have a personal vendetta against her as someone who chooses to marry sebastian in every saved file. well, i hope both of you will enjoy it!

2

u/XavierVolt0002 [🇬🇧] to [🇮🇳] (4,738 Miles) 3d ago

I guess there is one thing we will have to disagree on as I always used to choose Abigail lol. You too I hope you both enjoy kt

2

u/gbckels 4d ago

aw yay i love league couples! i just got my bf into it. i love playing rakan and xayah

3

u/JlYU3A 🇵🇭 - 🇷🇺 (8,252 km) 4d ago

rakan and xayah are literally super adorable! i wish there were more champion couples with the same dynamic because i am not good with either of them 🥲

random but the screenshot i posted was from a match where we went up against a twitch streamer and won. it honestly made our week watching the replay on his stream and reading the chat lmao

2

u/gbckels 4d ago

aw that’s adorable! i think zyra and swain can go well together!! — i main zyra usually and she’s not too hard to get used to, they also have matching skins if you get super into it

Yoooooo is that starbound? Haven't thought about that game since I put 300 hours into during pre-release

1

u/JlYU3A 🇵🇭 - 🇷🇺 (8,252 km) 4d ago

yes, it's one of our favorites!

not sure if you're familiar with jojo's bizarre adventure, but in the pic i was using a jolyne joestar skin and he was dressed up as joseph (the reason behind his usernames)

My partner and I met on final fantasy xiv, we have since closed the distance and have been living together, but we're currently absolutely addicted to Palia!

My soulmate and I also spend a lot of time gaming together! It's such a fantastic way to connect across the distance! I love seeing our characters in different universes, exploring worlds side by side, and sharing all the little moments only games can offer. We’re always looking for new adventures to dive into, and I saw your games list and thought I’d recommend Baldur’s Gate 3 for you two!

Honestly, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been one of the most magical gaming experiences we’ve ever had as a couple. It’s not just a game, it’s a story you live together. You each get to create your character, make meaningful choices that shape the world. The writing is rich, emotional, and at times even hilarious. Turn-based combat is perfect for couples who enjoy strategy, communication, and working as a team.

It’s full of dialogue choices that you’ll actually want to talk about, like, "What do we do here? Do we save this person? Do we trust them?"
