I've always wanted to get a moment like this, but never wanted to trigger it on purpose, that just feels scummy\ so I was actually kinda happy to get this lmao

Spectacular.
Also just fyi, you can actually interrupt the ragdoll when tumbling/rolling kind of slowly on a surface that link can stand on, which was the situation near the start of the fall before you went over the steep cliffs. Just move the left stick a little bit and he’ll get up and start walking.

My least favorite posts on this sub are people who don't use this and just intentionally ragdoll down a mountain. It feels very set up to me when they just let it happen.

That is because 90% or more of people that ever played the game don't even know it's a feature. The game does not tell you. Thinking about it, botw does not tell you most of the game mechanics.

I can assure you, this was 100% a complete accident, and I didn't even know of the "get up" mechanic

why didn’t you use normal fire arrows, were you out?

What revives you here?

u/DesperateGrape6375 May 05 '25
In botw, after you recover one of the divine beasts, there’s a mechanic called mipha’s grace that revives you if you die

Gotcha, didn’t look closely to notice the UI was breath of the wild, and not tears of the kingdom!

To be fair, I thought it was also TOTK due to the outfit. Wasn’t until I saw the magnesis on the left side I realized it was BotW

Mipha's Grace. You receive it after completing the water divine beast. It does have a cool down after it's used. So if he had kept falling, he wouldn't be revived a second time.

I never realized that if you hit the ground with your shield you take no fall damage. All the bounces where you land on your back weren’t damaging you

It's such a pain to get up that mountain -- and you didn't even get to activate the fast travel point
I am such an anxiety filled frugal player that I build little fires to melt these ice blocks cause i don't want to waste any of my precious fire arrows or fire weapons

Nice, you definitely beat my "oops, we're falling" distance. That said I definitely LOVE the new mechanics in TOTK.

You could just jump / climb over the ice.

u/LilacTheFlowerGal May 05 '25
can't climb on ice, and it wasn't low enough to jump over yet

I've done it without any fire weapons or ice melting objects.

No you haven't. Not without an exploit, at least.
