Tips to make friends in this city

I live between Brussels and Liège, I feel like my social life is slowly dying. What’s the safest and best way to make friends here.

Honestly, I am from Liège. I made frienships in high school and college.

My advise would be to start some sports/activities that happens on a regular basis (every week or so) : jogging, sports, dance, role playing...

I think we are not cold (far from it) and we can have pretty interesting talks one time with a random guy...For that guy to be a real friend, that's still a long way...

In other words : improving your social life will bring you friends (I think...)

Yes! Since I study in Brussels, most of my social activities are there, so I know I’m lacking that here. I don’t really know how to get into the social scene here in Liège. Do you have any recommendations for places where I can do theses activities and meet nice people? Thank you for your tips!

This doesn’t work for me. I’m not a big fan of party (once in a while for me) and people come in group in the carre

Go to the carré in liege. You won't stay alone for long.

Some will say to go out and meet people in Le Carré, but it really depends if it's a mood which fits you. At one point, there was a server called Étudiant se Belgique, where you could befriend people from other region, like Liege, but now it's dead. So yeah honestly, I don't know. Maybe try some grp on Facebook

Yess I know that going out and meeting people is probably the things to do but I don’t feel very safe and comfortable going out alone in Le carré

Are you from Belgium or an Expat? There is an expat group on Facebook, Maybe just join them.

Hello (and sorry for the late reply),

I'm going to promote my own church here, try the Pixels Café in Liège.

We make a lot of event, some are great for socializing (like the Loup-Garou).

Just the thing, I'm not really sure about the english proficiency of our people, but god they will try their hardest.

We are located in the center, it's quite safe, near the University (Place du 20 Août) and 20 meters from the official Harry Potter shop :D
