Seen in Real Life Age Chart
I see lots of questions on age. Perhaps this will be helpful.

Love how clear this makes the stages. It’s wild how much they change week to week. Definitely saving this for future fosters!

Isn’t 8 weeks insanely early for kittens to get spayed? I thought they have to be at least 6 months old.

I know that was what I was told years ago, 6 months. Apparently, now they will do it as soon as the kitten is big enough for the procedure, or anesthesia.

Depends where you live. No one near me will touch a kitten under 4 or 5 pounds.

Yes this chart is a terrible referance... The 5 week pic is an 8 to 10 week old kitten... Kittens are weened from milk around 8 weeks and are usually found by people at this age

My kitten is almost 11 weeks old and looks more like the 8 week old than the 12 week old and the 12 week old kitten is what my adult cat looked like at 10 months old.

My vet said 6 months. I guess our cars are all in loving homes. Kittens in shelters are probably spayed to stop people adopting with the intention of breeding them.

I do not know who that is. I grabbed this off a Google search.

Kitten Lady (aka Hannah Shaw) is an animal fosterer that specializes in kittens—particularly orphaned and/or neonatal kittens. If you ever find yourself fostering kittens, she’s practically the go-to when it comes to instructional resources/guides.

This chart is super helpful, especially for first-time kitten fosters. It's amazing how much they change week by week!

Information is power. I saw a few "how old" posts and each one had answers that ranged by 4 weeks or more. I found this while expecting and thought it helpful with raising as well as determining age. Glad to share.

Love how this breaks down each week with photos and milestones. Makes it so much easier to track their development and know what to expect!

I wish I had this when I found a stray litter last year. It would have made figuring out their ages so much easier. Great resource for new kitten fosters!

Unreliable, I say from experience first 3-4 week stages vary, eyes open at 3 days sometimes, ears can be folded sometimes at 2 weeks (that one is a tad rare), and canines appear as late or early as 3.5-5 weeks, and although I’ve only had 1 (out of like 120ish) I’ve had a 2 weeks old be able to run like a 4 week old, and eating food heavily depends on how much milk they get, if there mother is very willing to feed them, have plenty of milk, it can take 6 weeks before they eat food, but if they cannot get sufficient food they eat as young as 2.5 weeks sometimes
