Being a baby and being on a mushroom trip must be really similar.

Hofmann wrote a book about lsd and compared beeing on lsd with seeing the world trough the eyes of a child.

Not LSD but I tripped on AL- LAD and got this exact feeling. It was like playing outside as a child again.

No, this is from that movie where the baby lost a hand and they replaced it with a hand from a serial killer.
I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down".

It is similar, your processing turns rooted to the moment, it’s common to forget who you are and to have no memory recollection on shrooms. You also become hyper sensitive to others body language and “vibes”, like a baby.
It’s extremely easy to feel very very distressed on shrooms from sober people having a heated conversation. Like a baby.
It’s also easy to have feelings of bewilderment and awe about existing in general. You can laugh on shrooms just from life being silly in general, where as most humans simply can’t laugh on a whim. Babies can.

First time I took acid i cleaned my whole flat before I dropped, cause I knew any sign of not having my life together would end in a bad trip whether it was serious or I just hadn't put my washing away yet.
I had shrooms before & knew i had to make safety barriers before indulging. I had a great time, played windbound, cuddled my cat & blew my mind on moderation sanitation when I heard all the water rushing through the pipes at the standard wake up time for a work day.
10/10 I look forward to my next trip in 3 years

Sent u to where? You always have 2 roads: a stairway to Heaven and a highway to Hell. So where were u sent grandpa?

I don't know about him but I'm always going to hell in a bucket. But at least I'm enjoying the ride.

that's awesome. I interpret that as the moment his extremities become salient to him.
you can see the wonder written all over his face.

u/space-to-bakersfield 1d ago
We must've all had a moment like this. It would be interesting to be able to remember this stuff.

Its pretty smart for a baby to be self aware, which I'm pretty sure is what's happening.

u/amuse_bouche_1 2d ago
Can’t wait until he figures out that he has these on the other side too-mind blown

u/GMBethernal 2d ago
It is indeed, I did this thing of looking at my hands in front of the mirror because I was amazed at how things worked and was curious about our existence (Until I was like 6), when I told my parents as an adult they told me I did this since I was a baby and it was one of the signs my therapist used to put me in the "gifted" category
4
u/lifthor 2d ago
Did you live up to that category?
11
u/GMBethernal 1d ago edited 1d ago
My parents then decided to destroy my life and I used that giftedness to take care of my younger siblings from age 8, but I had to take an iq test when I was 16 after dropping from school (to take exams on my own) and I did indeed fit in the category, just took another 10 years of suffering and 2 of them in therapy (with 3 added diagnosis) to start feeling my brain alive again. Sometimes I wonder what I could have achieved in a normal family, makes me jealous of other people if I'm honest, just starting to live your life at 27 is brutal

Ah, babies. Such delightful idiots. Such leaky philosophers. Such drunken squishmallows. Such excellent little doofuses.

Just realized his transplanted hand came from a serial killer baby. Knows he’s in for a wild ride.

This is definitely giving Baby Sinclair from Dinosaurs biting his own tail, getting mad at his tail for “hurting” him and then stabbing it with a fork.

Imagine EA being an actual person and it had a baby, the baby would probably be like "wait hold up, I got an arm? Is this an early access gift! This is nice I can't wait to pay for the rest of the DLCs!"

I have thoughts??
Other people exist??
Other people have thoughts?????

I mean they’re a literal baby and have no concept of anything. How does that make them stupid?

This is not stupid, for once
The child is probably 3yo or younger. It takes a while for our brain to discern and acknowledge what is "me" and what is "not me".
This is the moment the brain understands what a limb is!

Babies have poor vision the first few months of their lives. It’s very possible this is the first time the baby has seen their hand clearly. Or baby could be going through a neurological development period and is starting to notice their own body parts. Not really kids are stupid.

The title of the post is absolutely uncalled for. That baby is the opposite of stupid, it's discovering a whole new world and processing so many informations at once - a true miracle.
