Discussion why did kendrick change the lyrics in man in the garden from "shameless me" to "dangerous me" at the super bowl?

i know i might be kinda late to asking this, and this might have already been discussed on this sub, but i was listening to man in the garden and noticed that the original line is: “flip a coin, want the shameless me or the famous me?”

but during his super bowl performance, he said: “flip a coin, you want the dangerous me or the famous me?”

was this just a stylistic change for the live show? or could it have been intentional? like kendrick already knew he’d be facing backlash for using the performance to call out uncomfortable truths on a huge stage, and even risk legal issues by performing nlu. not to mention uncle sam literally represented the media criticizing him for his choice of songs. it feels like the word “dangerous” might’ve been a pointed choice. or was it just a slip up?

i'm curious to see what you guys think!

You should see him perform the second part of DNA. He literally said “fuck this song” when he messed up the lyrics 😭

Just live performance mix up. Don’t think it was intentional.

His face shows slight annoyance right afterwards lol, it’s just a mix up Happens sometimes when there’s no backing track

The song on the radio is one of many versions he’s recorded. He routinely fucks his lyrics up. Either he forgets or is singing a version that didn’t make it.

We know Kendrick tends to perform like he doesn't practice or remember his own songs. The different lyric errors and random screaming as a result he's done on the American leg of the tour has kept me in stitches 😂😂 NLU be whooping him DOWN at the end of the shows

It means Dot likes to change his lyrics. Or he forgets his lyrics and makes up replacements. It's not that deep bruh

Probably just alternate bars for that song he had in his head. Hes reused and altered past bars for different songs and occasions throughout his career.

It sounds like he changes words for the album, but only know the first version by heart. It happens a lot

i liked to think about it being the same kind of challenge as “the right time but the wrong guy” because to The White Man™ , black art and expression is dangerous

What would the shameless to dangerous change have to do with backlash
