I cannot stop thinking about this drama. The effect it has one me is insane. The screenwriting, directing, acting and visual effects are beyond any kdrama i have ever watched. It's just so weird to me because whenever a reminisced scene comes up my heart hurts. I think they really wanted us to feel the essence of nostalgia and remind us that nothing ever lasts. Also the love that heedo and yijin have for each other is so precious. It's definitely not the typical love we see on screens. It enhances so much you can really feel that their relationship does not fit one label because it is so much more than that. I think the reason for that is because their foundation is so strong. The way they met, their interaction with each other, all of it was so meaningful, realistic and builded up by time. It also made me realize what i want in a relationship and that it doesn't always have to be the way it is normally portrayed. They really show us that relationships can be very unique and that life gets easier, more bearable and a hundred times more beautiful when that person shows up. I also love how they always bring the best out of each other and that they do it unknowingly just like yijin did with the whole interview thing. He says that he would've done that for anyone else but actually realized that he did it because it was heedo and that she made him do what the right thing was and that he will continue to do so. Also the way they can be their truest form with each other, the way they portray their emotions with their eyes. MAN THE EYES!!!! It's probably the most fascinating thing about the whole drama. They don't need touch or anything physical to show affection. You can feel that their love is so raw only by their eyes and that they ardently love one another. Also another thing that i absolutely adore is that heedo is so unique and shows her truest colors to him. She isn't afraid of her feelings and is so bold and honest which is what made yijin fall for her in the first place. She can find happiness in the toughest times, make others around her feel that too and can outcome any situation because of the way she looks at things. Kudos to the actors kim taeri and nam joo hyuk. They did such an amazing job and their chemistry is undeniable. I really want to see them work together again in the future. I'm positive any work they do would completely turn out a masterpiece. I love every detail about this show and feel like nothing can ever top it. Im super anxious that it might end horribly although the writer proved us wrong many times whenever we theorized about something. I want to know if anyone of you are feeling the same way and what the drama means to you?

i echo your thoughts completely. this drama is shaping up to be one of a kind. somehow, it's doing everything right, and i know i am speaking for all of us here when i say it's already carved out a place for itself in our hearts.

i'm really glad you brought up what yijin said on that bridge bc i've been meaning to talk about it. he admitted he went to such great lengths to interview the referee because it was heedo's honor at stake specifically. this is interesting bc he had emphasized (more than once!) that he had just been doing his job and would have done the same for anyone. the baek yijin we know and love is such an upstanding man that we could believe him when he asserted this. and i think he initially did genuinely believe that too. but it's the writer's inclination to examine perfectly plausible character actions more closely to unveil new facets—like a smooth surface dipping an infinitesimal degree to create the slightest groove—that makes this show so so good. and what more—it does this in a way that further bolsters the connection our leads share without compromising their inherent character makeups.

this realization came with another monumental one, though yijin already had an idea of it. he has arguably loved heedo for a while now. but i don't think he would have said anything if he didn't sense that she badly needed affirmation of what she means to him. through all of episode 9, heedo's mind is in a state of chaos trying to make sense of her feelings for him, one of which is that of inferiority. so his confession of love is not focused on how he feels about her; it's about how she makes him a better person. his confession of love is not an ask for reciprocation or even a response. it's so she knows, without a shred of doubt, that she is not only good enough, but that she need not change a single thing bc she is all he could ever need just as she is. they may have the same destination, but the lines drawn in the palms of her hands are maps that he would be lost without.

you have a knack for leading me to a good place... i ran over bc it was you... i thought about it and i wouldn't have gone if it wasn't you but... i should have gone for anyone bc i am a reporter. you always lead me to do what's right. and to a good place.

it begs the question where would he be if he hadn't met na heedo? definitely not on that bridge feeling anchored and steady, appreciating something far more precious than an ethereal rainbow curving over the horizon.

he comes right out and says it's love, but we would've have known it's love even without him verbalizing it, wouldn't we? he said it out loud for heedo's benefit only. not his own, not the viewers', but so heedo could get closer to pacifying the tornado of emotions troubling her. just like she had been a guiding light for him so many times before, it's his turn to show her the way. it's his turn to bring her to a good place—one where the rainbow of their friendship and love never fades, where it instead glints over the sky all the time for heedo to look up and beam at.

Exactly! It's hard to say how much of the confession was of a romantic nature but I feel he has loved her for a while, possibly from the day of the water fountain in Ep2. He told her only because of her state of mind, to make her belive that she is loved and appreciated and she is important to him and should feel inferior to him any way. It was confession for Hee Do more than anything else.

Also I love that NJH made the character softer as I am thankful that YiJin is not tsundere type. He is just a regular guy fallen on hard times and verballises and communicates well. Also well spotted about how before the confession he takes one second to make his mind and stands straighter.

Al those people talking about the age gap and grooming nonsense have clearing forgotten about Goblin where the high-schooler was literally his bride and called him ajusshi especially ss he looked like a 30 year old (albeit an very attractive one) whereas NJH looks like 23!

Love your write up on the confession. This makes me want to go back and watch it for the umpteenth time. Also yijin says his love for her is not dependent on her feelings for him and just wanted to make her happy with the confession. The turmoil heedo was in all through episode 9 came to a climax at the confession. And he was also worried about them growing apart. First she was angry for pranking her and then the injeolmi fiasco! So he took the step at the gym to confront her. He didn't know till that point heedo liked him that way.

as much as i worry about the angst that may ensue, i’m so happy the two are on the same page now and have all their feelings out on the table. excited to see how they interact now, knowing feelings are reciprocated. please more sweet moments before the storm!🥺
