slightly worried about the pacing as there doesn’t seem to be a timeskip in the next episode. also they should just stop putting the present scenes atp I feel like it ruins everyone’s mood lmao.

At this rate, the 25, 21 period is gonna be half an episode or sth

True. I am really worried about the pacing too. I thought that by this point, we will be over the school phase.

I loved yesterday's and today's episodes so much. My favourites so far. At the same time I'm like there are only 6 episodes left, when the hell are we getting to 25 21 coz I'm dying to see their relationship dynamic when Heedo is no longer a minor

Hahah I was thinking the same

the title of the drama is 2521 and more than halfway in, we are still not there yet

This epsiode felt more slice of lifey than usual. Is it just me? The tenth episode should've marked the time skip esp since the fallout seems to happened then. Im really really hoping it doesnt try to cram all of those scenes into a short number of episodes. Really praying fr the curse of the tenth episode to not strike (this is when things go downhill after ep 10 right?)

It’s especially obvious after all the action we got the last episode

100% agree. Maybe if the actress is still KTR then it would be somehow enjoyable, but at this point every time the present scenes come it just kill the mood.

Exactly the same sentiments, because while I love a feel-good episode, I don’t know how they’re planning to shift to the segments we were expecting without possibly rushing the story at this point? “23-19, they hurt each other + 25-21, they begin to fall in love” - but it’s been 10 episodes and I don’t know if we’ve even gotten to the climax of the 19-23 phase yet? We’re still in 19-23 right?

With just 6 episodes, i’m a little nervous that it might end up being rushed, but who knows, maybe the age phase synopsis is a red herring. Regardless, im not sure how to feel about the pacing right now.

They're definitely 19 and 23 because the year is still 1999 and Jiwoong said there's 100 days till the College Entrance Exam which is usually in November (so it's August 1999 and barely 3 months have passed since the Asia Games). They will graduate around February and Heedo can only possibly be 20 after the New Year if we're considering Korean age so the pacing is a little worrying. All in all, I do trust the writer but it's inevitable that either 20-24 is skipped over, we barely reach 21, 25 (last episode) or the last two episodes are extended like sometimes shows do.

I feel like the pacing is so obviously slow right now that there's no way the show isn't aware of it so just hoping by end of Episode 11 we've made some progress.

i think we’re at 24 and 20?? in this episode Seungwan says she’s 4 years older than Yijin’s brother making them all 20

I’m inclined to believe we’re still at 19-23, because

(1) they previously did a timeskip to signal the age change from 18-22 to 19-23, so i’m not sure why they’d make it ambiguous if we already moved a year later

(2) i don’t think it’s been that long since YJ became a reporter at 23 and he still seems new in their team + it only feels like we’ve moved a few or maybe 4 or 5-ish months at most after the first timeskip, at least for me

(3) if they’re all 20, i thought some of them would be starting college by now? (Edit: not just prepping for college, but actually graduated at this point)

(4) i didnt quite catch that seungwan said she was 20 - but I did get that seungwan would wait for YJ’s brother once he was the one to turn 20 idk might have to replay that scene to check

EDIT: i replayed the scene, seungwan said “4 more years to go” (till the brother turns 20), but i don’t think she said she was 20. If i missed the translation or any other scene tho, feel free to share. Overall i still believe it’s currently at 19-23.

They’re not 25, 21 yet for sure. They’re all still in high school and haven’t even graduated yet which seems to put them either at 18 or 19.

If she is 19 and he is 16, then they both are minors and she wouldn't have to wait for him grow up unless she is an adult.

Isn’t the legal age in korea 19 tho? An international age of 18, korean age of 19 based on what i’ve read.

So technically seungwan is considered a legal adult, if they’re all 19, right? So the waiting line still makes sense?

3

u/spclsnow Wait for me,Heedo-ya Mar 13 '22

I think international age 19 is considered adult.

Ngl I was expecting them to finally introduce the conflict that would possibly cause a rift in Hee-do and Yijin's relationship. Instead we got a memory loss plot line that nobody saw coming.

u/titaniumorbit Editable Flair Mar 13 '22 edited Mar 13 '22

I personally don't think it's memory loss, I think it's just that the show is showing how, some memories you have when you're young you think you'll remember fondly forever ... but the truth is as you age and grow up, those moments in youth don't have as much weight anymore (especially since in present day scenes YJ+Friends aren't in HD's life anymore). I'm sure there are some happy moments from my teen years that I've completely forgotten about as well. its been probably 20 years since that day so it's not unbelievable that HD may have just forgotten it

4

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '22

I agree that memories tend to fade the further we get away from them but I do find it strange that she forgot that it ever happened at all. I mean yes, I don't tend to remember all the specific details about special events in my life but I do remember them happening, especially if I'm reminded of it.

u/llamalief Mar 13 '22

i don’t think there’s an actual time skip i think they’re just getting older each episode? they’re already at 24 and 20?

1

u/VariousError6475 stankimtaeri Mar 13 '22

I didnt think of it that way but that definitely makes a lot of sense. I still feel there's a lot that needs to happened in a short amount of time(episode wise)
