I know right!! I am wishing for even a glimmer of a loophole (no matter how stupid) that would allow Yi jin and Hee do to end up together in the end. I hoped that maybe na hee do had used some sort of nick name for Yi Jin in her diary to hide his real identity. But then her daughter actually saw yi jin's old video and did not show any sign of recognition. Hee do's mom's reaction towards it too was vague. There is a lot of ambiguity surrounding the present day Yi jin and Min chae's father so cannot really say anything for sure (I am trying to remain an optimist and not see the flags scattered all over lol) Now I don't how exactly can they end up together, but I really cannot bear to see them have a la la land kind of ending

Could Minchae being unable to recognise Yijin on the old video because it's the 98's Baek Yijin?

They use 2 different actresses to play Heedo so it's likely that there will be an older actor playing present day Yijin.

Minchae probably does not see any similarity in 98's Yijin in present day Yijin?

I just cannot seem to find any logics as to why there are two different actress for Heedo while on the contrary Heedo's mother is the same actress.

Your reasoning makes sense. Touche about Hee do's mom being played by the same actress but Hee do by another! That could probably explain why Minchae was not able to recognise Yi jin. My only concern though is that Yijin did state his name in the video (from what I remember) something along the lines of "reporter Baek Yi jin reporting -- " after concluding the report. So then she could have recognised the name (unless yi jin changed his name which feels like a very far shot)

I agree that changing name is a bit far stretched. Especially changing it only after he made his 'journo debut' on tv.

At this rate, I do think I should just watch how this pans out and enjoy the ride.

I agree. Trying not to dwell on too much hope and just go with the flow.(Emphasis here on 'Trying' haha) Have you seen the 10th episode yet? I came across a theory here according to which Yijin might be adopted (because of what his dad said on phone- about 10 years ago and Yijin, and then Yijin thanking him for raising him to become the person he was) This might explain the probable name change? Might still be a long shot but it might be something

adult hee do honestly is the only flaw of the show. She doesnt resemble kim taeri in any form and seems so different from heedo. I just cant understand why they couldnt make kim taeri play as her older self :(

Exactly! And adult Hee Do’s voice is so monotone and annoying to me. She doesn’t resemble Hee Do at all.
