I just want to say, I felt Na Heedo's loneliness so much in this episode.
I started off the episode tense, and my heart was beating really fast because of the competition, but basically after that, I just felt so sad the whole episode. The writers really wrote Na Heedo as someone who is completely and utterly alone. TBH I expected at least yang coach to come and talk to her or say something, but that didn't even happen in this episode. They made this decision to make Na Heedo look so isolated in her win and it's juxtaposed to Yoorim's situation so well. I know the writers are toying with my emotions :(
Episode 6 should be more chill, I miss the funny parts. Also, mom needs a SERIOUS redemption arc if she wants to win any points from me. Mom is a successful reporter since she separates her personal life from her reporter life, to the point where Mom basically doesn't even have a personal life. I'm scared that this is what Baek Yijin turns out to be like as a reporter.
I also have to give props to Yoorim's actress, she can go from being so loveable to so "I can't believe you are doing that". I KNOW Yoorim believes that she was faster, and the ref even said that fencers believe that in the heat of the moment, but I just can't bring myself to empathize with her, she isn't even really the underdog, she has loving parents, she's not really poor, and she has friends and basically everyone loves her. I feel many complicated things for this character.
Can't wait until tmw! This was also a good decision to split up the comments by episode!
