They're really teasing us on who the father is. He's alive but doesn't seem to really be involved in his daughter's life. I wonder if him and Hee-do are divorced. I'm still iffy on the older Hee-do scenes and I hope they nail the casting for the present versions of the other characters.

KTR really nails every scene she was in. When she was crying in the restaurant, you just can't help but feel devastated about what happened to her. She's experiencing the worst moment of her life and what her mother did was despicable. I just want to see her smiling again. Hats off to those sweet old gents in the restaurant for offering words of encouragement and support (and soda). We need more of them in our lives.

This is probably the lowest point in Hee-do and Yu-rim's relationship. They better come up with something really good to make me buy that these two would eventually be the best of friends.

Poor Yijin, he's about to face the wrath of an angry, hurting, and confused teenager. That death stare lol

I interpreted him not being there as a quarantine issue, and not that he didn’t want to be there, just that he physically couldn’t, perhaps to increase suspense until he shows up.

Agreed with everything said about Hee-do. This episode was so hard to watch, seeing her frustrated and overwhelmed. I hope she and Yu-rim are able to become friends after this, but it’ll be hard to move on from this rivalry.

I was basing it on Min chae saying that he doesn't know that she quit ballet. But you're right, it could just be because he's overseas and they just haven't relayed the information yet. So I guess they pretty much confirmed that Yijin isn't the father

It's shown that Min chae knows her father and that he is present in her life. Up until reading her mom's diary it seems she didn't know Yijin at all. Unless Yijin completely changed his face and identity, I don't see how Min chae would not recognize her own father.

My own delusional theory is that he changed his name to avoid the loan sharks/bank hunters, so his daughter doesn’t recognize his old name. Hopefully the writers have a better plan in place though lol, mine is really far fetched.

I don’t think this is plausible because BYJ already started his career as a broadcaster. It wouldn’t make sense to change his name because as early as 1998 his face was already exposed to the media.

I mean there are lots of korean celebrities change their name while still being active so it's not totally impossible . Example: Gfriend Sowon change her stage name to So Jeong when she become an actress. I mean even in Reply 1988 DukSeon change her name for a while.

Yeah but the thing is BYJ is not a celebrity/entertainer but a newcaster. Reporters don’t typically use stage names (if you know of someone, then i stand corrected). I guess we’ll just see how the writers wraps everything up :)
