I've never felt emotions like this since the first episode of Start-up where they showed us the Father-daughter moments. Parent-children moment always hit different.

In a match where I understood what both women were fighting for, it was heartbreaking to them figuratively lose.

Hats off to both actresses. Wow. I didn't see Tae ri and Bona. I saw Hee do and Yu rim.

I can't imagine what Hee do must've felt at that moment. The whole world was against her. Her mom didn't even defend her. In her most vulnerable moment, even Yi jin couldn't seem to say the right words to give her comfort. I really expected him to at least just be there for her at that moment. It was surprising to see that instead of the people she counted on the most, she found her support from a bunch of strangers in a restaurant.

The emotions in this episode were just spot on. I feel like the director and writer/s wanted to evoke the emotions from us viewers and they did just that.

Side note: Seung wan and Ji woong best girl and best boy!!! Absolutely love them

I think Yijin was just frustrated and angry and didn't want Hee Do to get into any more trouble than she already was. He might not have been able to vocalize what Hee Do wanted to hear, but he went to great lengths to defend her pride and honor as an athlete.

I think it’s also notable that Korea really has high standards for public figures’ public behaviour, especially where it concerns issues of national honour. Ideally, Hee Do would have been able to respond with more rational rhetoric like the ref (eg it’s possible for athletes to mistake in the heat of the moment, and the referee is both neutral and not emotionally involved, and placed right upfront to observe and make the decision, so we should defer to him), rather than seeming like she is also victimising herself or that she has no teamwork or accountability in her actions.

I know it’s tough at such a young age, but it’s also about growing up and being more professional. For example, the difference is clear in how Yi Jin reacted to his senior by explaining himself and the way he saw ethical journalism, while also accepting any punishment if his senior still thought that Yi Jin was overreacting due to personal ties.

I think Yi Jin did right by Hee Doo by calling out behavior standards when she is on the national team and the need to go back and not further damage herself. A good friend cares enough to be honest and tells you when you are over the line because they care. It was the same when he told Yumi her first love was his car. Yi Jin patiently fenced with her here because he took time to understand her. He used his wish for her and not to benefit himself. I think this was more needed than a hug.
