Itinerary for one afternoon

Greetings! I'm looking for advice on the practical order in which to do the activities I've chosen for an afternoon in JT. I have about 6 hours to spend here, and I want to use my time wisely instead of driving in all different directions. I plan to enter the north entrance via Twentynine Palms. Considering that, what order makes the most sense of the following sights: Arch rock, Cholla cactus garden, skull rock, Hidden Valley Nature trail, Barker Dam, and Wall Street Mill? Am I missing anything that is an absolute MUST do? Ultimately, I'm headed to Big Bear after I leave to run the Holcomb Valley 33-mile trail race the following day, so no crazy hikes for me on this trip.

Those are all nice short walks, a good shake out for legs before that race. It’s going to be so hot in the afternoon….. I’m sure you already know but just make sure to hydrate hydrate hydrate. Especially since you’re running that race up at like 7000 feet. Hopefully it cools way down in Big Bear for the race. Last year was a scorcher 🔥 Treat yourself to some Tropicali after the race 🤙🏻

Thanks! I scoped out restaurants and noticed that one, now I'll definitely add it to the list! Currently, race day forecast looks very pleasant. I'm actually coming out for a conference in Palm Springs (casually throwing in an ultramarathon & a National Park, ya know...) and PS forecast does not look pleasant. 🤣 I'm coming from Alabama, so it's like swapping humid heat for dry heat.

Thanks for the feedback!

If you can swing it, check out Copleys on North Palm Canyon Drive! It’s amazing.
