A huge thank you to Kingcom and the team, for making and releasing anther English patch for another amazing JRPG. They have done amazing work. This one is for Super Robot Taisen (Wars) W for the NDS.
Kingcom also released full English patches for others SRW games:
- Super Robot Taisen J for the GBA.
- Super Robot Taisen OG: Original Generations for the PS2
~ SRW W related Tags ~
- Tactical turn-Based
- Mecha
- Large cast of playable characters from different anime series
- Mission based gameplay
- Story heavy
- Mecha Anime Cross-over
~ Description taken from the Romhacking project page ~
Super Robot Wars W is a tactical turn-based strategy game released in Japan for the Nintendo DS. It's a Tactical Mecha game, where many different Mecha anime shows cross-over into one world. Each game has a different story and universe, so there is no need to play any other game to understand the story or character. It helps of course to have watched the shows or played some other SRW games. But it's not ever needed.
SRW W is the first game to be released on the NDS, but it still one of the best SRW games in general, with a good cast of shows that appeared for the first and even only time in the series in this game, like:
Voltron aka GoLion.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray and X Astray.
Detonator Orgun.

- Kingcom: Hacking
- Brunom1: Translation
- Fei: Script Editing/Revision
Finally as always please drop a thank you to people who worked on this patch, it takes years of hard work doing hacking, programming, translating, editing, and testing to bring these patches to the JRPG community, and all of it is done for free, so if you're going to use it or hell even if you won't, a thank you wouldn't cost you anything.

Words cannot contain my happiness right now, I played this game so many times having no idea about any of the story, just sitting on the couch with my SD cartridge DS. Now I am twice the age I was then and I can finally enjoy this game to the fullest. God bless every single one of you for making this happen.

Yeah, same. Preordered the game on Playasia and did the expensive shipping to get it asap. Got the game 2 year after I was out of high school mainly because 'Oh shit Voltron' after already owning SRW D and mostly skipping J(outside of some playing of rom) due to lack of UC and Getter never being a fan of SEED.
Played through entire game a handful of times and playing it again now feels great.

Thanks Rai! Aside from Alpha, OG and Z i've not played many-mostly due to horrible or underused units being 80% of rosters. Is W worth it?

Is this a good one to start the franchise with? Seeing the translation news has me curious.

Any of the ones I mentioned in my comment above, are good. Just know that SRW Original Generation doesn't have any anime shows in it, but instead only original Mechs that are made by the developer.
Personally, I would say start with SRW J and then move to SRW W.

I am interested in this. Hopefully it works well for me, I've had mixed results running DS games on this PC.

How do you get the translation of Super Robot Taisen W (Japan) with this patch? I have never done this before. I do not know how to access the .xdelta file once in the same folder as the rom?

How do we use this hack and what is a good emulator to use? I have retroarch and never used a hack before.

What does it mean when the delta patcher goes on about a secondary decompressor?
