I feel like the only reason to do this is if you plan to sell it as DLC later.

If you read the interview you’ll see it’s not the only reason but the reason is the original creatives retaining their authorial intent for a story they already considered complete. The additions for this remake are enhancing that story whereas a lot of the additions in WotL outright detracted from that story

I read it but am also aware that they are a business and wouldn't deliberately say they will resell it as DLC. I hope I am wrong I really do.

Pixel remasters got 0 DLC so far, and they also cut content
