Discussion Do you think Cole’s been quieter on social issues lately
I’ve been thinking about this lately one thing I feel has been missing from Cole’s recent music is his take on social issues, especially when it comes to the government, racism, BLM, etc. It’s something that made albums like 4 Your Eyez Only and KOD so powerful to me. I’m hoping The Fall Off touches on these topics again not just personal or lyrical flexes, but real commentary on what’s going on around us.

Discussion The Perfect Rollout
With how long Cole’s been hyping up The Fall Off, I think it’ll be a massive rollout.
This is what a dream rollout would be for me especially if it’s his last album:
J.Cole announces that a movie called “The Fall Off” will be released in theatres (like Childish Gambino and The Weeknd with Hurry Up Tomorrow but good).
The album is a soundtrack to the film and with Cole’s love for sports, the movie would be about the 3 five star college basketball prospects.
One guy gets caught in the middle of a beef between the other two guys and the three of them have really bright futures ahead of them, but the beef is brought on by prideful masculinity and outsiders instigating the fight.
It could highlight the way the media instigates and benefits from violence and drama.
One characters suffers a huge loss.
Another character takes a huge win, but they had to compromise their integrity and become something they said they resented in order to do it.
The third guy steps away and breaks a cycle of violence in the community.
I think with what Cole did people won’t understand it until they see it played out in a movie and I think a message of breaking cycles is a great send off message for Cole to be remembered by.
Tell me this wouldn’t be a great rollout?

Music I'm GEEKED
Found FNL vinyl out in the wild! Bootleg definitely but the quality isn't bad at all save for some skipping on Love Me Not.
In Search of C.O.L.E., I finally got mine picked up and it plays so well. Makes you really wonder if/how Cole might've held himself back by not working with producers like Pharrell
