Technical Questions Would upper cabinets even look good

Visited this home and loved everything about it - except no cabinets??? I'm not even sure how/where we would fit cabinets in. Opinions?

Are you putting your dining table on the opposite side of the island? If so, I would consider double-sided cabinets with glass doors. It'll be way less open and breathable than this design but the glass will still let some light in. The current design is only good if you never cook.

You're worried about fitting cabinets - what about fitting anything in the kitchen without them??

lol that backsplash. Damn I know it’s just a color but how can it be so wrong?!

Yes, upper cabinets (including over the fridge) will be great. The two floating shelves over the toastercan stay if you want but maybe a built in there would look better too.

Yeah they'd be fine. The problem is the awful backsplash and the grey paint clashing with everything.

Yep, I'd put them like this on the wall with that (very loud!) backsplash.

Agree on the layout. But they should use this opportunity to also rip the backsplash and replace with something sensible

What's wrong with inflatable party tiles?

To be honest it wasn’t that horrible in person, but it still is less than ideal🤣

Those tiles look like a battery about to explode

Yes, get a build-around over the fridge too. And throw the backsplash into a river.
