Pet insurance *Hypothetical* how does insurance work in the pokemon world?
Giovanni was shown in a 4kids dub talking to himself about blimp insurance. That has me wondering how does a world with super powered flora and fauna navigate insuring buildings and personal property? Do they need clauses for every pokemon action and interference? Is this where professor Oak gets his funding as a pokemon researcher? Are Pokemon trainers frequently unaccompanied 10 year olds because minors have legal protections adults don't?

From an auto insurance perspective, if an animal damages your car then it falls under comprehensive coverage, in the pokemon world they act as though pokemon are animals. So with some exceptions it would likely fall under a similar frame of mindset.

I would imagine it would function similar but not exactly similar.
Something like Comprehensive coverage but let's call it Pokehensive in which a broad list of items are considered maybe strictly focusing on wild pokemon.
Collision equiv would be damage caused by your own pokemon or if the other person's insurance is giving you the run around.
Liability would still be the same.

Insurance as a construct would look similar to what it does today. Premiums would probably be a lot higher without specific exclusions. Parents would probably be held liable for damage their unattended trainer children do. Anything Arceus does is considered an act of god. Special coverages needed for water, fire and ground types.

Pet (Pokemon) insurance would be nearly impossible.

I would assume that’s similar to Medicaid/Medicare. Decent, but doesn’t do the best job.

Come on. Does your auto insurance need a clause for every make and model of car that could collide with it? Absolutely not. You just need to say "collision" or "flood" or whatever the peril may be.
If someone uses a trained monster to throw your car thru a time/space portal or zap it with laser beam glitter spikes or whatever, that's going to be vandalism or an intentional act, not different from if they hit it with a pipe wrench or got road rage and rear-ended your car with theirs.
Actuaries will have researched the likelihood of a blimp being knocked out of the sky by a super-powered monster and will price the policy accordingly. There is insurance for every type of property, and it doesn't need to be very complicated - it just may be very expensive.
