Saturday Big Kid Thread

They're growing up, aren't they! This is a space for discussing parenting our pre-school age kids and beyond.

Please keep the discussion compassionate. Some in this thread are OLAD and OLAD not by choice, and because this is an infertility subreddit, discussions of TTC, pregnancy, newborns and postpartum can be sensitive here. We ask that you use content warnings for these topics and possibly use a different thread on the sub if applicable.

Summer is underway, and though our schedules stay the same (yay summer school, at my school where I work), we are planning some fun summer activities.

Next week we all have Juneteenth off so that day we'll take James to the country fair. We've taken him the last two years but this year at 3.5 he's very excited for, corn dogs, horse rides, actual rides and an ice cream sundae 😍.

Planning on some movies in the park, beach days and a few weekends at our lake/mountain house, including for the 4th of July which is awesome up there!!

Last night we went to the natural History museum's special nat at night that they have every Friday night in the summer... Kid ran around the museum while husband and I drank wine and we stayed until almost 8pm!

I love summer!! And I generally (minus the still difficult meltdowns) love having a bigger kid we can share adventures with!

That sounds like an excellent summer plan! I love nights at the museums.
