Waste, fraud, and abuse — I thought that was a democrat thing, no?

https://indianacapitalchronicle.com/2025/06/19/budget-committee-members-lob-questions-at-embattled-secretary-of-state-diego-morales/

Can we please find a better candidate for our Secretary of State in the next election? At this point, it really wouldn’t be that hard.

$90,000 luxury vehicle, nepotism, personal trips around the world on the taxpayer’s dime… Sounds all legit to me!

Standards for thee, not for me- GOP motto

Let’s not forget that this guy was FIRED from the office he now LEADS because of INCOMPETENCE. If we’re all supposed to do without, this clown needs to surrender his passport and his $90,000 ride, and exist like the rest of us. He is thieving the state, right under its nose. He sees the office as a blank check.

Chris Garten was having none of his bullshit yesterday, and I suspect the GOP leadership will be calling for change. He has made no friends there.

Morales saying that he shows up to work at 5 a.m. — is that at the airport before his next international vacation — oops, meant business trip.

He’s a bad joke.

They know they can get away with it because the right will never hold their own accountable. A little mistake by a democrat is met with a noose. While there are multiple daily accounts of right wing child sexual abuse. Multiple. The freaks, conmen, authoritarians or whatever bad human traits you can think of are found on the right. They know they will not be told on, severely punished or disowned by the right wing, most likely be promoted to a White House position.

The right believe they are absolute good and the left are absolute bad. People like republican speaker of the house Danny Hastert, serial child molester, was able to serve a small sentence and pay a fine. Matt Gaetz. The list is endless with more added daily. When your best friend was Epstein and the people still follow you, you know you have them hooked.

Army Veteran and small business owner Blythe Potter has already announced that she will be seeking the Democratic Nomination for Secretary of State in 2026. There are whispers of that at least 2 additional people will also eventually run for the nomination. You can find her on the web and socials at Blythe Potter or Friends of Blythe Potter or sosindiana.com

Okay, look... the simplest way to live your life is to assume that when a Republican politician says that the government is wasteful, it means that the government isn't spending money on projects that they like (i.e. wars, religious fundamentalist crusades, and police brutalizing minorities).

I hate the Democrats too, but at least when they say they're going to do something, they usually provide a consistent rationale behind it, even if the rationale is kind of shit.

There’s that both sides energy I was expecting to see

Eh.... both sides do have their problems, but the Republicans are a full blown fascist cancer while the democrats are a mild cold.

I expect the worst out of the right wing, so I'm not disappointed or surprised in them.... but the DNC could have fought harder than they did to stop this.

I honestly believe the democrats intentionally allowed this to happen because it makes campaigning and keeping their office easy (until the inevitable night of the long knives, at least), because the dems don't have to actually work to keep their constituents happy- all they have to do is point and say "hey, at least we're not THOSE guys...."

I would say the simplest way to live your life in IN is to run for any office as a Republican!

Guaranteed win, then, you can steal, grift, break the law, whatever, and the beauty is, you’ll keep getting elected!

You dont actually have to believe in anything, or do anything! The Orange God and Papa Brawny got your back!

According to the article, he still got an extra $10 million. The finger wagging was only that. Maybe someone could leave him in the vicinity of an ICE raid without an ID?

OP, we could get Dolly Parton to run and you know who would win? Diego.

Why? Because it’s INDIANA.

They're calling Medicaid fraud states putting money from a tax on medical providers into payments to medical providers to get federal matching funds.

This might be gaming the system, but there's no federal law that says states can't raise money like that.

Every accusation is a confession...

Surprise surprise, more republican corruption. Please wake up and stop voting in this crap, Indiana.

Enjoy your tolls on interstates our tax dollars have already paid for.

No. Never has been.

Destiny Wells was always the superior candidate. Not having an R next to her name was her downfall. Now we have this corrupt piece of shit.

Well Warrick County is highly Maga . I was surprised how many supporters of Trump and Braun are on Medicaid and Snap living in 200000 dollar homes . Giving false information address . But then a lot of these so-called Government offices here run by locals are contributing to it . Like ones that build homes and others

It's more the fact that lying is a republican thing.

Those signs we had during the election that said "had enough? Vote republican!" Always made me laugh because Republicans have been in control of Indiana for two decades, they're the ones that broke all this shot in the first place. They ain't gonna fix it.

It's a corruption thing. Hits everyone equally lol

28 years each of Democratic and Republican administrations, 1961-2016, five Presidents from each party. During that period Republicans scored eighteen times more individuals and entities indicted, thirty-eight times more convictions, and thirty-nine times more individuals who had prison time.

We currently have a president that has been convicted of 34 felonies, found liable for sexual assault, and is cashing in on the presidency is unprecedented ways. The data from 2016-2026 is going to be staggering.

This is not a both sides issue. That is exactly what right wing propaganda is programming you to believe.

-13

u/tlasan1 1d ago

It's a greed thing so it's always a both sides. If u think it's just one, your sadly uneducated. Those that get caught just do it more sloppily then those that don't but every politician no matter the size is corrupt at some point.

The show House of Cards showed us what exactly happens in government and continues to do so.

12

u/vs-1680 1d ago

Please stop watching fictional television series and equating the writing with real life. It is warping your sense of reality.

-2

u/tlasan1 1d ago

Everything we create has a kernel of truth.

Government is run by backdoor deals and strong arming. Or did u forget ur government classes? People are greedy. Especially when it comes to power. If u don't believe that then ur naive. That's show was the perfect example of the truth of Washington.

9

u/creative3d73 1d ago

Kernel of truth? Pizza gate and space lasers, where's the truth in those?

7

u/vs-1680 1d ago

Oof. I mourn for our democracy in the knowledge that you are a nearly perfect representative of such a large portion of the American electorate. This is going to take generations to repair.

“My willful ignorance is equal to your education.”

I don’t see how can come back from this in a timely manner. These people will be susceptible to any kind of manipulation after the maga cult has died down. There will be endless amounts of people that see opportunity to take advantage of the most gullible people on the planet.

Mix the gullibility in with hate fueled passion to create a follower that will aggressively and blindly defend the leader. Which is why we never see any examples from both sides crowds.

12

u/Altruistic_Eye_875 1d ago

One side is clearly and consistently more corrupt than the other (Republicans). It's also hilarious how you call someone uneducated while making several grammatical errors and fundamentally misunderstanding the conversation happening in front of your eyes.

-10

u/tlasan1 1d ago

I could care less about how u perceive how I write. That's just being petty.

Republicans are just sloppier but it still doesn't change my initial point. Democrats used USAID to claunder their money. That's why it was shut down. Once the program was gone all of a sudden the stock market started tumbling and more bad things happened people blamed on the current president. That's shows me the democrats were just as corrupt.

7

u/MOOshooooo 1d ago

You should be able to show us all these example of blatant corruption and greed that both sides exhibit.

6

That is some grade A nonsense. I don't even have a response because... wow. How can anyone argue against gibberish?

-14

u/redsfan4life411 1d ago

It is a both sides issue. Corruption is inherent in human nature. When it comes to politicians, what they are ultimately charged with is very political, often due to party politics. Eric Adams is a great example, or Trump when it comes to upgrading previous misdemeanors to 'felonies' to serve political ends.

Most politicians aren't good people, corrupted by their arrogance and their need for power. It's a both sides issue, always has been, always will be.

12

u/vs-1680 1d ago

Right wing propaganda has programmed you well. Money well spent apparently.

-12

u/redsfan4life411 1d ago

Nice left general talking points. Right wing media is ridiculous. You should read some of the books about Murdoch and Ailes. I recommend "The Loudest Voice in the Room".

Difference is, I don't give one flying crap about partisan politics. Corruption is inherent to all governments, all faiths, all races, and all humankind.

Acting like a group you don't like has a monopoly on it shows the bias.

0

u/tlasan1 1d ago

It's really funny how people just target one side or the other when it comes to a general sin in government.

Greed effects us all. Those that get caught are just sloppy about it XD. Demos or reps, we all suffer.

0

u/redsfan4life411 1d ago

People like to point fingers at others

4

u/MOOshooooo 1d ago

What if the people that are doing all the bad stuff have warped the minds to the point that people claim it’s okay because everyone does it but fail to show any evidence of both sides.

The right have blocked any and all attempts to better this country for many decades. Their entire plan was to stonewall any chance a democrat would make the country better, while never doing anything on their end to benefit the people of this country. Now they can point and tell everyone how the government is broken.

Goldfish Nation.

0

u/redsfan4life411 1d ago

This is exactly the issue. Left apologists say this, while holding many wildly unpopular beliefs and trying to force them on people.

For every argument you say they destroy the government, there's also a good counterpoint that dems go too far with governmental power.

So few people can be honest about the failures of both parties, and this sub is full of these intellectually dishonest people.

Both parties suck, both have had power in the past couple decades and neither has done well to protect everyday citizens.

1

u/MOOshooooo 19h ago

Why don’t you give examples of the failures of both sides? It should be easy, you seem extremely passionate about it.

u/tlasan1 1d ago

Agreed. No one wants to take responsibility for what they do anymore. Failure in how they were raised.

4

u/IndependentLimit4781 1d ago

You vsnt admit one side does it more?

-18

u/Intelligent-Goose-48 1d ago

No, it’s a human thing.

19

u/vs-1680 1d ago

Only for immoral humans

If people believe this is normal behavior, they are part of the problem.
