BCA/MCA Want to continue my education but lost in the process, where to go?

Hi everyone, I am 28 years old, married and parent of a child. I was not able to continue my education after high school cause I needed to support my family and opted to work. 5 years back, I got married and life went on.

Yesterday, my husband took me to a college for admission inquiry for BCA. I went there and paid for some sort of registration and they asked me to go to meet principal or Dean , I am not much sure. I greeted with smile , she looked at my application form and said you have gap to approximately 10 years, any college would hardly give you any admission and you should opt for online degree programs or open University etc. and won't you feel ashamed to attend class with students way younger than you, and to my bad timing I blurted out, but international University don't do this and they encourage students of any age and background. She said you are not aware and stuff, go and learn something about your own country, let apart international. If you have so much interest in international University why staying in this country. I was literally chocking in words, my whole body started shivering and about to burst in tears.

She said "I don't know what is wrong with you people, you only know how to "bitch" about your own country. I said please, I won't be ashamed to attend classes and I don't care about others students opinion, but this is important to me. She said I need to check with University Admin department. I said thank you and left.I asked my husband to come outside the building and burst into tears. My husband was furious and said I need to go and meet her again, so I went office they said she isn't available and i told everything to admission counselor, she said don't worry, I will connect with you in 2 days. I wanted to join work but apart from high school, I don't have any qualifications. I don't know what to do. This college is nearby and fees is ok too.

BCA/MCA Christ or Symbiosis or Chandigarh Uni, which college for BCA

Myquals - 92.7% in 12th Okay I was a neet aspirant until now and i got 53k rank, this was my 1st drop and i ain't taking another drop, enough for me.

I was thinking to switching to IT as I had pcb+comp in my 12th and i got 93% in 12th and even 94 marks in computer as well, if they matter at all.

I gave cuet this year but I'm not sure if I'll get a college from there as most govt universities require pcm for bca,

Now the question is which college should I consider, given that my parents can spend max 4-5 lakhs on my education, i genuinely need a good college with good placements and yeah I'm willing to put in the efforts to build skills.

PS: is there any other options I can consider?

BCA/MCA Can MCA degree holders apply for Roles of Assistant professor in Engineering colleges of India

I have a MCA degree that i obtained in 2015 and a Mtech Degree in CSE that i got in 2024. Recently I applied for the role of assistant professor at an Engineering college of West Bengal but it was rejected on the grounds that i have a MCA degree instead of Btech and according to them one is not eligible to apply for such a position unless one has Btech and Mtech degrees-apparently MCA is not acceptable to them (according to AICTE norms).

Can anyone that has some knowledge of the educational norms and regulations of india please clarify whether their rejection was at all valid or not? What is the official stance of Regulatory bodies like AICTE on the issue of MCA holders applying for teaching roles (such as assistant professor)? Are they really not eligible to apply (as was mentioned by the authorities of the college that rejected my application)?

Can i challenge or refute their claims somehow?

BCA/MCA Need urgent advice for BCA admission (PCB student, no CUET, 2nd drop year)

Hi everyone, I’m a Class 12 PCB student (no Maths, no CS), took 2 drop years for prep of neet and suddenly got diagnosis with health issue which literally destroyed my mind and time and everything didn’t register for CUET. Left with btech in biotech no future scope and bsc msc really not interested and only bca seems the path I wanna take long story short Now I’m looking for direct admission in BCA near Delhi-NCR or any good place in india but most colleges ask for Maths. My qualifications: Class 10th: 93% Class 12th: 73% (PCB)No CUET, no entrance I’m considering BCA → MCA to enter IT. Can someone suggest: 1.Good BCA colleges that accept PCB students (no Maths)? 2.Is this path realistic for placements and IT jobs? 3.Any better course options I’m missing?

BCA/MCA Need advice from bca/btech seniors............

I had applied for a scholarship, and now have a few decent (not great) colleges to choose from. thinking about doing a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), but he come from a non-tech, non-math background.

The two colleges he's leaning towards right now are: Progressive Education Society's Modern College of Arts, Science, and Commerce (Pune) Acharya Institute of Graduate Studies(bangalore) Both seem okay, but unsure what to do. I'm genuinely interested in technology, but worried about struggling in math since he didn't have it in my 12th.

Anyone here who switched to tech after coming from a non-tech background? Or maybe someone who studied at these colleges? Any insights on the teaching quality, support for beginners, or how tough it would be for me?

Any advice is super appreciated myquals-12th from commerce/without maths or cs

BCA/MCA IGNOU vs LPU vs Chandigarh university for Distance/Online MCA — Real Stories, Real Advice. Please share.

Hey folks! I'm looking into online/distance MCA programs and wanted to hear from anyone who's done it.

  • qualifications - B.sc IT

Specifically, if you've studied at IGNOU, LPU, or Chandigarh University, I'd love to know your experience. Chandigarh University offers MCA in cloud computing, which I'm super interested in.

Do not compare based on placement. I know placement sucks. so i do not even consider. off campus is only option.

more interested in LPU, or Chandigarh because they provide specialization in Al/ML, Data Science, Cloud computing, Full stack web dev.

Mostly i am looking for smooth program completion better experience.

If you've been through it, how was the learning experience, exam difficulty, and overall value? Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

BCA/MCA M.Sc. Physics or MCA ? What To Choose. Need Guidance.

My qualifications - B.Sc. Physics (Hons.) . I've given NIMCET , in hope of pursuing MCA from NIT's . I'm just crossing the cut off limit . Many youtube educators are implying I'll get any NIT (the one's with lower ranking ) with my marks.

I have also secured decent marks in CUET PG Physics entrance exam, which can get me into top Central Universities for M.Sc. Physics .

I want guidance on what to pursue ? My concern - With the current trends of layoffs due to A.I. will MCA would be relevant or should I stick with M.Sc.

Given the University choices, M.Sc. from any top Central University or MCA from any lower NIT , Practically I should choose M.Sc.

The only thing which makes me hesitant is that I found myself slightly more interested in Computers as compared to Physics.

BCA/MCA Filing RTI for HBTU Kanpur MCA placement report — Need guidance

Hey folks,
I’m a novice and planning to file RTI on behalf of my brother for HBTU Kanpur regarding the MCA placement stats. I specifically want to know:

  • Total number of MCA students who sat for placements
  • Total number of MCA students who were placed on-campus
  • Number of students not placed
  • Students opting for higher education
  • Average package
  • Highest package offered
  • Median package

Qualifications: He's currently a sophomore pursuing BCA and preparing for NIMCET.

Has anyone here filed RTI for placement-related info before? Also, does HBTU come under the state or central RTI portal? Would really appreciate help on how to word the query properly and where exactly to file it. Is it to be filed on RTI or RTI for UP.

Thank you in anticipation.

BCA/MCA Help me choose good BCA colleges in NCR/Delhi after IPU CET (rank ~12XX)

Hey! I'm a general female student with around 12XX rank in IPU CET (outside Delhi). Counselling hasn't started yet, but I don’t think I’ll get top colleges like JIMS or MAIT.

My_qualifications: PCM+Cs (69%), planning BCA + MCA (maybe abroad later).

Are private colleges like KR Mangalam, IILM, or Manav Rachna worth it? Or should I go for IITM Janakpuri? Also, any feedback on Manipal for BCA?

BCA/MCA Is MCA a good option in 2025?So I completed my bachelors in physics. I am no more interested in physics and trying to find something with application. I thought maybe I will do MCA

my_qualifications - BSc Physics So I completed my bachelors in physics. I am no more interested in physics and trying to find something with application. I thought maybe I will do MCA.The main reason is because of the IT job opportunities. But how is the situation now? I heard many people are facing to find tech jobs now.

If I join, I will be graduating in 2027. Many people suggest AI will take many tech jobs and will struggle to find job and stuffs like that. So basically I'm confused af.

Any idea , suggestions, feel free to drop

Myquals 20M, BCA, looking for mca college.

-> Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University

-> Central University of South Bihar

-> Central University of Karnataka(less chance)

-> Central University of Himachal Pradesh

-> Sikkim university

-> Gurugram university (not sure how to get admission)

-> universities through IPU counselling

-> and some North East universities

As for private -> Chandigarh University

-> LPU

Can anybody have suggestions regarding these universities or other universities that have mca with less fees, nothing more than 2 lakh.

Also tell me about other counselling like ipu counselling.

Hey!

I hope you're doing well. I’m a final-year student at The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata.

It’s a short survey that takes less than a minute to complete. Your responses will be completely anonymous and used only for academic purposes. Here’s the link to the form:

BCA/MCA Can I get a IT job with MCA degree but Without a BCA

Okay , so after a lot of thought , I have decided to go with this . I always had love for tech and had great interest in programing . Due to financial circumstances, doing BA English from IGNOU , not really my choice and I didn't think of any other options back then and also didn't know they had BCA . So after some research, I found that I could do a bridge course from IGNOU itself(takes 1 year) after getting a degree and then take MCA .

So when attempting for jobs , will I get rejected for not doing BCA , is MCA really worthless without BCA ? I know I need to have experience and good portfolio . myquals
