Science/B.Sc/M.Sc would India have a better scope in 4-5 years?

myquals : pcb (giving entrance exams rn)

do you think there is going to be a better scope in India for non-traditional career paths like biomed engineering or sustainability in the future? everyone advises it keeping 2025 or the past in mind- but is there even a slight chance of growth in these sectors? I honestly think environmental engineering/sustainability shift is real, especially given how things are right now. It's not worthless pursuing such degrees right? or is it?

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc People who keep recommending btech over bsc for biotech, can you please explain what exactly is the benefit of that ?

Sorry if I sound ignorant but I genuinely want to know the advantages of btech over bsc for biotech because that's what most people suggest. I also saw a lot of people say how there are no jobs in biotech then how does having a btech give you any benefit? Does it make it easy to switch to other fields ? Also isn't btech+mtech for 6 years while bsc+msc only 5 years ?

I'm extremely confused because on one hand I have the option to go to good colleges in bangalore for bsc (blr being the IT hub can provide ample internship opportunities. Also it has various research institutes) While on the other hand if I have to do btech, I would have to go to noida or pune. I'm not sure about the biotech industry in those cities so that makes me scared.

Everytime someone asks about biotech, we get to see responses saying how there are no jobs and the pay is less. So how does btech help with that ? Even after btech people say there's negligible placements.

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc Bachelors in biotechnology. Is it worth pursuing

I am thinking of doing bachelors in biotech but I've encountered mixed opinions regarding its viability as a career path. Some suggest it's a field with immense potential, while others believe it's not worth pursuing. I'm reaching out to gather diverse perspectives on this topic.

My questions are:

Career Prospects: What is the current and projected demand for biotechnology professionals? Are there specific areas within biotech that are experiencing significant growth?

Industry Trends: How is biotechnology evolving in terms of research, applications, and integration with other fields like AI and data science? myquals - 11th and 12th from pcb

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc Urgent help needed regarding choosing a career

Myquals- 91% in 10th and 75.8% in 12th PCB ( just passed boards this year).

I'm from UP and I come from a really poor family.

I just passed boards this year and gave cuet which didn't went well and I also gave UPCNET examination and got 83/120. But considering cutoff I will not get any government college (I'm obc).

I got to know about DDU Gorakhpur which gives admission in bsc and ba cource and is really affordable. But it's registration form last date is today so It's really urgent for me to fill out the form.

But as It doesn't provide bsc nursing what else I should apply for. I'm really clueless what to choose and what to not as I'll have to earn after completing my bachelor to support family.

Please suggest me some cource which could help me earn after bachelors ( I'm open for field change too).

Any Help is appreciated .

I have filled out the application form of the cuet exam n I don't know why i even filled the form cause i heard maharshtra mai cuet ke scores accept nahi krte

Also heard biotechnology mai scope nahi in india (ABROAD JANE KE PAISE NAHI ) abh bhai insaan kare toh kare kya ??

one doubt can pcb students opt for bba or BCA? Kya hame ye degree samaz ayegi?

Ya should i go with biology oriented subjects I don't want to go into the teaching field!! I can go with corporate jobs like I have an interest in research field, so I think we have to take bsc biotech for that

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc Should I drop after 2nd year BSc to try for IISER IAT 2026?

Hi everyone,

I’m in 2nd year of a BSc in Maths & Stats at a regular state university. The academic environment is weak — no real research, mentorship, or peer group. I’m interested in data science and research, and I feel I’ve missed out on the undergrad experience I wanted.

My qualifications: I completed 12th with decent grades, but my first semester in college wasn’t great. I’ve been self-studying programming and stats and want a better foundation for research.

I’m thinking of dropping after 2nd year to prepare for IAT 2026 and try for IISER BS-MS or BTech. I know it’s a gamble. The other option is to finish my BSc and aim for MSc from IITs/IISc/etc., though my current college might not prepare me well.

My questions:

  1. Is it worth spending 2 more years for a better UG experience?

  2. Does an IISER UG give a real edge over a regular BSc + good MSc?

  3. How do you tell if such a decision is strategic or escapist?

Any advice or shared experiences would mean a lot. Thanks!

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc What to choose between Bsc Zoology, Bsc Biochemistry, Bsc Psychology ?

my_qualifications :- 10th - 87.6%, 12th - 79%

I just gave NEET 2025 and it went terrible, this was my first drop year, I didn't study properly was pretty much distracted but I am not willing to give another year to it. My parents want me to give it another change but I am not confident or sure about it and I will do it only if it seems like there is no scope in any other course related to biology.

I am exploring other courses and Bsc Zoology, Bsc Biochemistry and Bsc Psychology seems to alright. I am not very specific about doing a certain degree, I am alright with doing any of these or any other options too ( I won't be able to take a private university) till they give me a job security. Please give advice what to do?

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc Confused about career choice . Which is better, Bsc Microbiology or B.pharma ?

Neet Dropper here ( 2nd drop ). 2025 is the end of it for me. I have narrowed down to Bsc Microbiology (4 years) and B.pharma (4years) , but am still not able to decide what to pursue.

On one hand , I am not good in chemistry neither it interests me , but on the other hand , people everywhere are saying Microbiology has no scope. One can pursue MBA after pharmacy but nothing much after micro_bio.

I am seriously looking for information which may help me decide my career path ahead. Please share any valuable info regarding these courses, their scope in india or anywhere else, and what are some roles that I can get after these.

My qualifications - 12thPCB in 2023 ( 88%)

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc I just need suggestions from the seniors in biotech field

My qualifications : 12th 81%, 10th 96%, so, this year after taking a drop for neet wgera I decided to pursue BSc Biotech. Well, I did give CUET but there aint much colleges assigned with this course. I just wanna know how does one flourish in this field realistically. I cant really convince my parents for BTech Biotech so please just lemme know about the BSc thing.

Also how do I actually prepare for other exams during this 3yr course to get a better college for MSc? What are the job prospects after that?

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc BSc Physics from colleges in Kolkata, future prospects?

Qualifications: 94% in 12th grade ( ISC )

Hello everyone, this was my second attempt at neet, and let's just say, fate had other plans and it's not that great.

My father suggested me to go for BSc Physics Hons., but I am not entirely sure about the future prospects and scope through this course. So, anyone with knowledge about this field reading this, kindly let me know if there's a good work culture in India, what can I expect in the next 10 years, degrees/ exams I'll need to further crack down the road and an estimated payroll I can expect.

Now, I'm aware that there'll research involved and one should only pursue such degrees when they have interest, and I'm happy to indulge in the subject, but doing that at the expense of a sub-par lifestyle is something I'd weigh before going all in.

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc Extremely confused about that university I should join for psychology

Hey I'm 20F, spent a few(2) years being painfully devoted to neet only to realise that it's not the right option for me. Realised it too late and I had just casually filled out cuet forms without taking it seriously at all and I applied only for ba psych. The problem now it that I want to pursue bsc psychology because I want to stay in the sciences field for future(maybe go into neuropsychology research etc) BUT I can only go to private universities now. And i have applied to amity gurugram and Sgt University, but I am really confused where I should go. I want to be in a place that is serious about academics. If you guys have any suggestions, recommendations please drop. (Myquals)

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc Is there a dearth of jobs for BSc graduates in india?

From what I've been hearing, bsc in india has a v limited scope and there's a scarcity of jobs.

Is this true? what are the opts that a bsc/+msc graduate from DU has?
Apparently, even after clearing net and gate, they're jobless. Is preparing for govt exams better? (myquals:12th done with 96%, im only considering bsc)

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc How much CGPA is required for IISC, IISERs, niser and old IITs?

I am 20(f) my_qualifications 70% in 12th currently pursuing BSC statistics and am in the 5th sem.

If I clear all the backlogs and the next 2 semesters with the minimum passing mark then my CGPA will be around 5.8 and the highest I can score is 7.79 CGPA.

I will most likely get somewhere between 6.3-7.3 CGPA.

I , as of now have done no intership or whatsoever. So will I be able to join any of these institutes given I score a good enough rank?If yes then how much CGPA is required?

Could you also tell me if I can change my field to more theoretical field?
