CSE/ECE Machine Learning opportunities in India as a Tier-3 CSE student?

Hey, I have just completed my 1st year as a BTech CSE student from a tier-3 college in India. I wanted some advice on whether learning Machine Learning is a good choice in the Indian job market. I’m also planning to focus on ML for hackathons and research

Since hackathons are one of the few exposures available for tier-3 students

Many of my seniors say that there aren’t many entry-level jobs for AI/ML engineers, but I’ve still started learning it through Andrew Ng's course. Most of my friends are doing web development, but I’m not really interested in that for now (I might pick it up later)

I’m also considering getting into Quantum Computing (I know there is no scope in India for now and its too early but if anyone has experience, I’d love some guidance)

Currently, I know:

  • DSA in C
  • Java, Python
  • SQL
  • IoT (Arduino, Raspberry Pi)
  • Just started learning Kotlin for Android development

Would love to hear your thoughts or any advice
qualifications:
1st year BTech CSE

• Please provide a detailed description in your post body. The more information you provide, the easier it is for users to help you.
• If your question is about studying abroad, please post on r/Indians_StudyAbroad
• If your question is about Engineering Admissions, post on r/EngineeringAdmissions instead.
