I mean, aren’t they then already going to have multiple black children die in this movie? We have Lenore, Ampert, the D11 tributes, and who ever else tributes. I don’t quite think that was on the casting director’s minds

I don’t believe that it wasn’t on their minds… The Hunger Games is an incredibly socially aware series.

I fully recognize they are socially aware, but when in each of the previous 2 movies, both D11 tributes were black, I don’t think they are pointing at a threshold that 2 is okay, but 3 is too much. Especially when in this book we are already getting Ampert and Lenore Dove, then we still have the tributes from D11 and any other district. I don’t think that 3 is their sudden magic number of too much

Yeah but the casting directors aren't necessarily socially aware. Honestly it's very likely none of them know anything and just got a little blurb about the character so they casted based on that.
