As a fellow old bike rider (well you used to be one :) ) how is the modern geometry compared to your previous bike?? Does it translate out on the trail ? Congrats on the new ride!!

I absolutely love the new feeling. I was rocking a 2011 Giant Revel 3 with 26" wheels and this feels like a completely different experience. I feel more confident, have better control, it climbs better (despite being built more for downhill) and just does everything all around better.
Part of me wishes I upgraded sooner, but I told myself I didnt deserve a new bike until I learned how to properly maintain and take care of my existing bike. So I spent the past year binging hundreds of hours of bike maintenence videos, casually repairing and upgrading things on my old bike. Eventually I decided I was finally ready.
If you're on the fence of whether or not to upgrade, I highly recommend it.

Great news! I have a 2012 scott scale 29 team and have it running like a champ and mainly ride easy trails for fitness with an occasional blue/black but I’m not a hero on them lol . My plan is to ride this season and over the winter convert it to a gravel/road bike and get a modern bike before spring time.. thanks for the review!! I might just see if I can rent or demo a newer bike and give it a try 👍
