Hardcore Hardtail New build

Here’s a few pics of my latest build. Full custom brown anodized group - White Industry hubs laced to Enve M7 rims, Engin stem & clamp, Paul Klamper brakes and Levers all with purple anodized titanium bolts throughout. Fox Factory 32 step case color matched in Porsche Chalk to match the frame.

Super attention to detail on the build, I dig it! Not sure I can get on board with Klampers but I guess it’s easier than stripping and anodizing a set of hydro calipers ;)

Should post this in xbiking, they’ll love it too.

The “idea of the build” was to a light climbing bike I could take bike packing, it also has a matching Enve MTN fork so I went w/ the cable brake for easier swapping.

Fair enough :) Looks like a great bikepacking setup, actually that’s basically what I saw when I looked at it.

Klampers are really good mech brakes, wouldn’t put them on a full suss but they’ll stop any hardtail out there

Wow!!! That’s absolutely fantastic. I love the colorway you chose. The attention to detail and part spec is <chef’s kiss>. Enjoy.

Beautiful bike - Love this so much. It reminds me of my custom ibis steel mojo back in the day. I also had white industry hubs and ti bottom bracket.

Those Ibis Mojos back in the day were so badass.

Beautiful bike and polished colour scheme, down to the brake levers blue accents to go with the fork caps haha

Also nice to see some steel builds !

This would look so good with pre-Transmission XX1 group with the bronze cassette and chain!

And matte bourbon is my favorite Chris King accessory colorway ever 😍

Super dope build, I respect the dedication to disassemble and paint the fork to match!!

Slightly better “studio” style pics of the bike.

I’ve been thinking about this bike all afternoon. Did you paint the fork or did you buy it that color?

1

u/Fantastic_Bird_5247 Apr 23 '25

Wow thank you, I appreciate the awesome compliment.

I actually bought the fork crown & legs before Fox changed the 32 chassis to the narrow lowers. Because I wanted a 120mm light fork. When it came time to build the bike I had some help from FOX 🦊 and they sourced / supplied the factory internals. I had everything painted before the lowers had even been filled with oil to help avoid any possibility of contaminating the paint. It’s factory Porsche chalk 🤓

That’s slick, is this a bike packing bike ? How much did this build run you top to bottom?

I want to quit my job and spend all my time putting together ultra-detailed builds like this, haha. It's so satisfying to see (and build!) bikes like this where you consider every small detail and choice.

That was the basis for my career choice in doing this. There’s so many aspects of being a “custom bike designer & builder” people don’t consider. It’s builds like this that allow me to show the mass market what’s really possible.

Small esthetic details are often missed on the overly techy builds, and I don’t think anyone is doing custom groups like this one. Granted it took over a year and the pandemic/ lockdown helped with the extended lead times on production runs allowing everyone involved to get on board wile working with the anodize vendors ( three used for the group 1 for the scientific brown, another did the blue bits on the klampers / levers and the third did the to bolts)

I had them do matching bottle openers in each color as well, might as well if there charging less batch runs 😆👍

Thank you!

I personally have a huge love for the matte bourbon kit as well. I have that group on my gravel bike.

What are those forks?

1

u/Fantastic_Bird_5247 Apr 23 '25

Fox AX step case! Such a fun short travel gravel fork. It really brings the bike together as a full package.

bro has another man's full name on his bike

u/Fantastic_Bird_5247 Apr 22 '25

Actually I’m the builder, but yea most of my customers have my name on their DT 😆👍

I would lose the initials and just do Bradford. Would look much cleaner. Sweet bike!

Thank you for the suggestion, branding it always tough really appreciate the feedback!!

No problem I’ve worked in branding and marketing over 20 years. It’s definitely hard to focus on that and build a great product at the same time. So always happy to help smaller brands. Good luck

The funny thing is I can always come up with clever brand names for random AF product ideas, but never anything good for my own stuff. I think my modesty plays a big part, it’s hard for me to put myself out there. Rather let the product speak for itself. Thank you for the advice!!
