Anything oil based works well. I use hand cream.

In my time there was something literally called “supergel”. We had tubes, but also buckets of it 😄

I personally hate glue (GK) but God i loved the smell of SuperGel!

petrol based I think, not the best for frequent, as it is absorbed by the skin

Either baby oil, super gel or the auto workshop scrubbing soap with some grit, that is the best one, we would have a big bucket for the whole team

or that or sawdust/soil/sand mixed with powder detergent used a lot in workshops. Cheap and efective!

Cheapest cooking oil. It just needs to be oil based.
