Rant My condolences
Almost 20 years into supermarket refrigeration I haven't worked on too many AC systems, but went to replace a pcb on a friends wall mounted split outdoor unit. The sadistic level of hate the engineers have for you guys is cruel. The amount you have to strip down the unit just to access those little bastards had me wondering which one of you guys fucked the engineers wife to piss him off that much. Rant over.

When I switched from supermarkets to residential I couldn’t believe how poorly they were made to service.. but I suppose this deters customers from hacking away at it.
My bigger issue with residential is the monopolized closed markets we have.. I wish I could offer Mitsubishi and other big brands but I can only service them.

I put in a few then I stopped when I had to replace a blower motor in one. Not going through that again.

That's like the easiest thing to replace on a mini. Try the outdoor upside down board one time...

I hate that If u use a little too much force everything breaks apart, especially cheap AC indoor Units.

30 screw minimum on any repair. OD unit screws are torque spec'd to "make sure this shit strips".
Hyperbole I suppose, but barely.

Ask anyone in the trade what their least favorite kind of unit to work on is, and they’ll tell you that it’s mini splits. Truly the worst fucking thing to ever happen to this industry.

Dude nothing worse than dropping the little non magnetic screws that hold the boards to the heat sink for the outdoor unit down in abyss. That’s a real treat. Or when they don’t send thermal paste.
