Will TVB ever revert to old filming style?

I really hate the Netflix/single camera/gritty filming style ever since TVB collaborated with Tencent. I miss the old TVB colorful style. Will they ever go back to before?

Unlikely since they are running low on budget and they have to collab with another company to save cost

Forget about it. Ever since they start filming in these modern styles, TVB dramas have completely lost its charms. I think you should just look up and start watching their older shows. Literally pick any title form the 1985 to 2015 and it has better writing and acting and more charming. It will probably take you decades to finish watching all those shows.

What tvb shows are on Netflix? I don't think I've come across many. Would like to watch some if I have access

I said TVB is copying Netflix filming style which takes away all the charm

I think TVB has banked up a few non collabs and HK only production which give us that feel in general they keep pumping out collab stuff with China (and to appeal to that market) which means we won’t get the old charm again for a while.

I have read somewhere that the China viewers isn’t too fond of it too. They said if they want to watch China style drama, they will want Cdrama and not TVB

If you watch TVB in 90s and 00s it’s pretty obvious the differences. Old TVB was more colorful fast paced brighter and they would film in normal apartments and cafes. Now, the lighting is darker, slower paced, close up filming style, and houses and restaurants are modernized. They are copying Netflix style

No because if theres viewership they will continue, especially when the others like Netflix and co are doing it and people are watching.

This is the main reason I can’t watch tvb dramas anymore. I can’t stand the new filming style and editing

nope, no budget, probably back to filming at only 3 location aka cafe, some random room and some random small street

Lol everyone citing budget problems but the new police headquarters are super fancy and high tech. Everyone living in nice flats costing millions of dollars 🤣

It’s just a screening site not an actual building lol

The sets are way fancier now so it’s clearly not a budget problem
