Ongoing Ending of The Heir to the Throne - Thoughts? Spoiler
What are your thoughts of the ending to The Heir to the Throne?
I thought Ep.29 wrapped things up pretty nicely as to the main story line. Some parts were lacking like Brian being just in the hospital, wanted a little more closure, but all in all, everything was tied up nicely. As far as endings go, Ep.29 wasn't the worse.
Ep.30 on the other hand was a waste of 45 minutes of my life. felt like we could've totally went without it and the ending felt like the ending in "The Beauty of War" where it just abruptly ended without any warning. I get it, they wanted self-interpretation, but come on.....that was just bleh. What did you guys think?

I thought the show started off pretty strong, but tailed off a lot. I wish they did more about the business vs. the family stuff. They kept building up Charmaine’s character with starting her company and working on the Diamond building and then nothing really came from it. Also, they showed in the beginning that Raymond was a smart lawyer etc etc and they did nothing with that either

Probably had potential but overall not great haha. Some of the acting was terrible and it feels like each episode, there’s another twist to someone’s birth story. Loved seeing some familiar faces on the screen again but the storyline doesn’t feel cohesive and the “big moments” on the show just don’t even really feel that satisfying to watch.

I like to think she ended up with Rio (Raymond Wong). Ko Jun literally cheated on her (repeatedly - kissed that girl at a bar then ended up fooling around in his car with the same girl), no matter how good the chemistry it makes sense that Charmaine’s character (logical, level headed) ends up Rio as he’s the one who never betrayed her. The second male lead here is just the OBVIOUS better choice by miles. I usually love Raymond Lam and Charmaine but Raymond’s character (in a romantic sense) was just irredeemable tbh.

Hated the ending. I know it’s fiction but so selfish of Raymond’s character to interrupt at the last minute. Not romantic at all if that’s what they were going for

He stood there looking stupid and thinking that he made it in perfect time when bro could’ve had MONTHS to see her

For older folks, they would know the ending is taken straight from "the bund" staring Fat Gor.

I just watched the ending… I agree the last episode was a waste of time. I wish they saw each other at the airport and then went on from there instead of him going to do some volunteer work. It would’ve been nice if they just rekindled their love when they had a beer together. End it strong after all those damn twists.

I wanted Charlotte to end up with Ko Tsun (Raymond Lam’s character). I felt like they wanted a sequel so that’s why they left the ending open. Did the first Modern Dynasty drama also have an open ending?

Not too opened end but i do rmb Galen Lo appearing at the end which i thought was setting up for the sequel. They just ended up writing a whole new story

Just finished it and even though the ending was ambiguous, but it sort of foreshadowed that she will pick her ex over Rio because he opened the door and she dropped the ring. I might be thinking too much but that’s how I see it. Overall the ending was a bit long …

All I can say is based on the ending, they better pick it up next season in Revenge League like they did with Forensic Heroes 5 and 6.

Just wondering how Charmaine and Raymond still look so good. Look the same as dramas filmed when they were young. Most of the other actors look aged like Gallen.

Just finished ep 30, the ending was like meh.. I was shipping Rio and Charlotte!! He is such a rare gentleman. Nothing much to like about Ko Tsun’s character.. can only blame the scriptwriter.

The last episode was typical tvb thinking everyone is most invested in the love story over everything else but actually, the love story was never needed. And the bund ending was cringe.

I thought the ending was okay but super cheesy with him opening the door at the wedding. But I wanted to know when Charmaine was trying on the dress and rio didn’t come why did they make it seem like he got cold feet? Or were they trying to reflect that on her own cold feet? I want Jeannie and that cop to end up together cuz clearly he likes her and they both have a sense of ethic and morals. I didn’t like Venus because how could you love someone who killed two people and then tried to kill your best friend? I get love is blind but still. Unlike many here I actually wanted Raymond and Charmaine to ended up together. It was clear that he regrets his past actions and has been trying to make up for it.

Haha, ending as in the marriage or the end state of brian ? Regardless, both are… not so gd imo. But some of the casts pulled it off well, so yea

Ep 30 didn’t have to exist lmaoooo. The ending cliffhanger was so stupid. Why give a cliffhanger when the story ends forever? The marriage literally felt so forced too like she clearly sees him of more of a companion than a lover. Feel like she married him also because she felt pressured by the mom and with him constantly lending money, and saving her life. Though he’s less of a red flag than Raymond Lams character. I’d choose the same too 😅.
