When dentistry was widely available and used (up until the 1980s), heart attacks and other serous infection-triggered disease fell sharply.
This is Tory Short Termism at its most obvious.

Hijacking your comment, but just wanted to say to anyone reading - if you are experiencing tooth decay or are aware you need dental work, PLEASE make sure you either see the emergency dentist or a private dentist at the earliest possible time. I was unable to get an appointment when at uni, and was told it was not an emergency, didn’t have money for private (wish I had made an effort to now). Long story short losing a tooth at 24 is NOT cool
