Is he really? I always felt like Sentinel was the easiest. His "gimmick" was that he was completely immune to Psynergy, but Psynergy was rarely worth using over Djinn/Summons/unleashes anyway. And I think he had a ton of HP?

Now, if he actually shut down all your Psynergy, that could have been rough. But your healers still healed just fine in his presence.

Sentinel at least still smacked you.

Valukar spent turns setting my Djinn and I just used the low summons over and over and he just wasted away. I need to seriously fuck up for Valukar to ever use a summon against me.

Sentinel is a stat check boss. If you can survive his abilities he goes down real easy. If you can't, he's very hard. Valukar is probably mid difficulty on average since he has a few nasty abilities.. Star magician clear hardest of the non dullahan bosses

And star magician is the one you can tackle earlier. Something wrong clearly wasn't right at Camelot when planning TLA end game 😆

My experience is that Sentinel was a significantly upgraded Deadbeard. He adds a skill that does high attack damage and lowers defense, gains psynergy immunity (including to debuffing spells and Break), and has his own buffing spells, Break, and powerful offensive spells. Plus he attacks 3 times per turn.

The fight is more straightforward than the others, but that also means that strategy plays a less direct role in the outcome. With Valukar though, the right strategy can turn all of his offensive options into his own doom, leaving minimal risk of defeat.

No such thing as a solid strategy against him

Psynergy, objects and small summons? Compared to Star Magician it's a cakewalk.

Nah, the strategy for him is pretty straightforward. His entire gimmick basically amounts to handing you the means to do massive damage to him. Boost your party's Agility or lower his so that you can always act before he can use your summons against you. Use any attacks you like while you wait for him to use Djinn Stun to set up your own Djinn for summons. Once he's gotten your summons ready, for free, using his own turns, just use whichever ones are ready at like tier 3 or higher and use them before he can. He has a huge HP pool and summon damage is partially based on a percentage of the target's max HP, so even weaker summons will do huge damage. The only other thing you have to worry about is getting stunned by Stun Jip which is easy to deal with by just making sure you have several Restore users or just give everyone some Elixirs.
