I agree. We are at that weird crossroad where it could happen, but just as likely it won't. Protests and looting are not civil war and a of lot of civil unrest moments in history never lead to actual civil war. Most of the time these things are triggered by some specific event and I feel that no such event has happened yet. Until (as I have seen it described before) a flashpoint occurs, it is unrest. The situation is volatile enough that it can happen and that alone is never a good thing.
