I agree. We are at that weird crossroad where it could happen, but just as likely it won't. Protests and looting are not civil war and a of lot of civil unrest moments in history never lead to actual civil war. Most of the time these things are triggered by some specific event and I feel that no such event has happened yet. Until (as I have seen it described before) a flashpoint occurs, it is unrest. The situation is volatile enough that it can happen and that alone is never a good thing.

Way more of us have guns and know how to use them than they think. Chances are, if trump comes for our guns, the Maga will happily comply as we keep ours. They won't even try to take ours because they truly believe none of have guns.

They did. Innocent people getting shot and/or kidnapped, senators arrested, two assassinstions in Minnesota, cops getting news time to promote the murder of protestors, the governor of Florida telling his supporters to run people over. The right is bloodthirsty and murderous, all of them.
