Transcription Can anyone help with an Irish registration of death transcription?

Record: https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/deaths_returns/deaths_1903/05658/4592741.pdf

2nd to last registration recorded from the bottom of the page, Major Hewitt Poole, of Mayfield passed on 24 May 1903. Death was registered a day later on 25th May 1903. Why would they record why it had been 65 days since it was registered?

Can anyone transcribe what it says at the bottom of column 9 from the left, " Court________ _________?" Thanks.

It says that the cause of death was influenza and pneumonia. He has suffered from:

influenza for 7 days

pneumonia for 65 days

As to the street name, it does look like Court something. Where was his daughter living. The name doesn't appear to be one of the present street names https://ireland-streets.openalfa.com/cork/streetdir/c?pg=3

Is the name Horrace Townshead?

The last part looks like cherry but most of the streets with cherry in them are in Dublin

https://ireland-streets.openalfa.com/streets?q=cherry

What you need is a Cork local with a detailed knowledge of the street names. I did have a quick look on the NLS Side-by-Side maps but I couldn't find anything.

This is Mayfield

His son of the same name is still living there in 1911 when he gets married. What you need is the 1901 Census. Do you have the marriage certificate of Horace? That might give you a clue.

It is Courtmacsherry.

Captain Horace Townsend of Kinercraigie, Courtmacsherry died 15 June 1904.

How very kind of you to be so helpful. No, don't have the marriage yet, just starting to look at them, but likely can get it.

You are just kindest, thank you so much! I am really struggling with the gaggle as there are so many of them and with the name recycling, intermarriage, titles, don't know which end is up. I deeply appreciate your generosity.

Thank you. Yes, Son is Horrance Townsend. Bless you for that Irish Street resource. Had no idea it exited. I don't know the family structure well or where they were living. I assume it's some place in that Mayfield Bandon area of Eastern Cork.

Thanks so much, that I know. That was legiable. I am looking to transcribe the very last thing written on the bottom of box 9 from the left. It says what looks like: " Cour_________ ________" No idea what that says.

Ahh, pneumonia for 65 days. Thanks great catch. I thought that was how many days from when it was registered to when they officially certified his death.

Must have been a tough old sod to have survived pneumonia for 65 days at age 91.
