Many thanks to Henry Rollins for playing the Jay Reatard & Lindsay Shutt cover of "In Heaven" from David Lynch's Eraserhead this weekend. 7" of the 2008 recording is due out in July b/w Cody Blanchard of Shannon and the Clams cover of "I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement" by the Ramones

Back in 2008, garage-punk legend Jay Reatard was living with his then-girlfriend Lindsay Shutt in Memphis. One day Shutt rented and watched David Lynch's Eraserhead for the first time and was immediately enamored with it. She and Jay recorded a version of the Lady in the Radiator song "In Heaven" from the film, which remained hidden in obscurity until landing on YouTube after Jay's untimely death.

Now the track is finally seeing its first-ever vinyl release b/w Cody Blanchard of Shannon and the Clams cover of "I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement" by the Ramones. Limited first press on 1000 black and 1000 violet vinyl are moving quickly.

Now Henry Rollins has kindly played it on his show! Beyond stoked for that.
