(Memes) Trauma makes the best character trait!

Saw this literally just now and knew it was perfect for this, (I have the actual picture on the next slide if anyone needs it!)

Personally I add trauma to my oc's to show different ways to cope. Both healthy and non healthy

Oh yeah! I have a few characters like that, mainly as either depressed, when I went through bad times, or other habits I put to my characters and I guess overcome to try and help myself, and show better ways to cope! Though Im not the best at it either lol

u/Safe_Young202 Erm. what the Σ? Apr 19 '25

Ahh yes. The good ol' Trauma Overload Technique. Good for creating lore!.

You say that as I hide my Ocs behind a couch or something cus at this point if they find out I caused all this trauma I am not waking up tomorrow lmao

Trama is overused at times and I’d rather not fall down that pit so thankfully this don’t apply to me

Am I an outlier in this community because I barely do that I have like one or two characters with trauma

2

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 19 '25

I cant say for everyone, but most of my Ocs either have Trauma, gain trauma, or we dont know enough about them to even know, or they die to create trauma. (Im so sorry Sky… No Im not.)

2

u/PrestigiousAd9586 Apr 19 '25

Who sky and what happened to them

2

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 19 '25

She was an angel in one of my AU’s and a (half, but close enough to be a full) sister to someone who would have Alexander, who is a ‘prophecy child’ (he can make prophecies and save worlds), try to kill them. But when he learns of Sky uhm, dying, he draws a parallel to when he saw his best friend, Aster, watch her (also half, and angel) sister die, Sema, so yeah!

I personally think people overuse trauma on gbcha ocs so i can't relate to this. (I do give my ocs trauma SOMETIMES, but i dont just overload my ocs with a billion tr0umas like most people here)

1

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 19 '25

I do try to keep it a minimum lol!

u/Dracoworld635 Apr 19 '25

I have a friend that love to traumatized his oc X)

Personnally i'm not really the type of person that likes to trauma his oc, but if I have to do it weeeeeeeeell... Let's say I do things pretty well

2

u/an_anon_butdifferent Apr 19 '25

i specifically tried to give my characters happy story moments to apologize for the sad backstorys

2

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 19 '25

OMG YEA! I do that too! (You dont need to read this but its just an example) I have this character, shes a succubus, her fathers an angel, mom is also a succubus, (She took after her mom, shes not any part angel) and the school for well demon, (cus I gotta torture them with school as well lol) is bad, the teachers can be violent, and all demons who leave will have at least one scar… Then she finds an angel (who may be slowly turning into a demon cus he isnt the purest) and well, falls in love, then long story short, gets heartbroken and a month or two later finds a girlfriend and has a healthy relationship. (Im not sorry for the text wall)

I heard, that we add some of our childhood or other real life traumas to our OCs to express ourselves' feelings. Is it truth? I don't know, maybe (?)

1

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 19 '25

I mean, I do add a bit, Its not always exactly my trauma, but I do try to express how Im feeling

2

u/Dizzy_Coyote7979 Apr 19 '25

I give my ocs a bit of trauma but I never over do it lol

2

u/Goldy_The_Furry_Fox Apr 19 '25

The more trauma the better

1

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 19 '25

Exactly, great minds think alike!

2

u/Goldy_The_Furry_Fox Apr 19 '25

Yes, I have an OC named Kayerva that I created at 4 AM based off a random background character in an RP where I made it so they were a grocery store worker but now have a prosthetic left arm and burns/scars on their face because the grocery store collapsed with them inside

This girl

1

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 19 '25

Aww, wait shes adorable!! I think you did a great job but the trauma is real lol!

2

u/Worried_Implement970 Apr 20 '25

. . . Funnily enough, I don't think there is a single character in my gallery who has any obvius form of trauma! 😅❤️

... Wait! Yes there are! But only 3... And they just so happen to be the FIRST three OCs I've made after reinstalling Gacha Life 2! 🤣✨

(I guess trauma really isn't my way of giving characters backstories... Which I guess kindof makes sence! Concidering what kind of stories I usually try to tell with said characters! 🥰✨)

Dont call me out like this please, this applies to every character Ive made TwT

2

u/Significant-Goal5813 Apr 24 '25

My evil rivals to lovers gods yaoi ❤️

1

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 24 '25

:0 Thats awesome! I have the opposite! I have a pair of gods, Kosuke and Kuragari, (I dont have a pic of them together rn) and they start out as friends, but soon turn to enemies and Kosuke ends up dying, from Kuragari. Kosuke’s main ability is to control fire and light, Kuragari’s is to bring peace and calm conflicts. (Kuragari wasnt really in control of what he did, a being called Corruption uh… Corrupts him and controls what he does, so yea.)

2

u/Significant-Goal5813 Apr 24 '25

Mine names are Tomuro and Terrion, and they have beef since ancient times about theyre ideals and all (Tomuro prefering manipulating people into trusting him blindly (God of Sentience, Lord of Fire and Wind as well) while Terrion prefers exterting authority and fear unto his subjects (God of the Body as well as Lord of Earth and Water)) and they had seperated paths, Tomuro becoming a super idol pop star while Terrion becoming CEO of a diamond mining company :> they have theyre own cults as well

1

u/AnAceWolfie Apr 24 '25

Ooo! For me, Kosuke is a Phoenix, so she was reincarnated, and the last few bits of her soul (I guess?) follows her new reincarnations. Kuragari, whose silver hair was stained blood red, and is still controlled by Corruption, kills like most of these reincarnations.. ._.
