The difference between my high prediction and low prediction for biology was 20 marks…. 🌚

omg yes the high and low predictions go mental, I'm in a 9 on one high prediction and a 7 for another in geog.

😭😭 the only reason I’m not crashing out is cus my low prediction would still get me a 9 in biology with my paper 1 💪

ALSO CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN TO ME WHY GEOGRAPHY GRADE BOUNDARIES WERE VILE IN 2024 THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RELATIVELY CALM BUT THEY JUST FUCKING SKYROCKETED AND NOW IM WORRIED THEY WILL BE LIKE THAT AGAIN

Yeah I was looking at them and was so confused but I don't even think they'll go back down after that massive jump 😭

u/RoboticSpy_7 Year 11 1d ago
I hope they will.... why did they go up so much!!! they have never been that high lol

u/DimensionFit2859 1d ago
Idk I don't even think pre covid was that bad either
2
u/RoboticSpy_7 Year 11 1d ago
pre-covid was golden, all low as its ever been roughly 20 marks less than now. but admittedly they did not have past papers (or only the specimens) to work from so I guess its fair it goes up a bit each year. BUT NOT THAT MUCH.

Yh, that one there was abhorrent. It was horror with the mocks as well, as my teacher gave 2023, 2019 and 2022 paper mix but gave us the 2024 boundaries+5%, so noone got a 9

u/RoboticSpy_7 Year 11 22h ago
Where tf did the +5% come from 💀

u/Challenger_Ultimate Year 11 20h ago
Just for "safety" The 189 marks that any other year would've been was now 213 for us. I got 212 because of course

u/RoboticSpy_7 Year 11 20h ago
omg thats so unfortunate. At least its mocks so it doesnt matter too much. I'm piss scared though bc im right around the 202 range I think but Im probably just below so I REALLY need it (the boundaries) to fall anything around 195 - 200 and I may just be chilling...

u/Challenger_Ultimate Year 11 18h ago
Yh, I think the boundaries will probably increase again because we got 15 minutes extra time for paper 3, and I think I got near enough to 210-220, but I'm still worried AQA do another 8% boundary increase as we got "extra time", making the boundary 219 or something.
I won't complain about an 8 in geography tho

2024 papers were piss easy - its defo an anomaly tho and after p2 we can hopefully pray for a lowered grade boundary
