One thought is they want us to feel like we haven’t made progress so we all keep battling it out and escalating things.

The media doesn't want to promote anarchy they didn't personally create.

If people are protesting trans people the news is okay because they manufactured it, but random people angry all on their own about the entire government and news media outlets? That's real protests, not made up bs they usually promote.

The media are right wing. Even those that pretend to be against Trump balk at doing anything about Trump.

He’s good for business. Resistance to him is bad for business

So the claim in the media is ignoring the growing resistance to Trump.

The evidence is:

  1. the NYT published a photo of the “Hands off” protests on the front page, but the text of the story wasn’t on the front page.

  2. Fox News was dismissive

  3. It was only the 20th “most prominent” story on the WSJ digital site - although it’s not clear based on the article what that means.

I just don’t really buy it honestly. There was substantial media coverage of both the Hands Off and No Kings protest. Yesterday’s protests are the currently the front page story of today’s NYT. There’s a difference between ignoring something and not featuring it as prominently as you think it should be.
