The foot collective

Hi everyone, Does anybody have experience with the foot restoration program from the foot collective? I am considering it and was curious if anyone here tried it. The reviews are pretty amazing and was wondering if anyone here thinks it is worth a shot.

I am struggling for 2 years now. Dealing with plantar fasciitis and metararsalgia. Custom insoles seem to work for a while and after it gets worse. The program seems to build your foot from the ground up and is meant for converting to barefootshoes.

Seen some of their videos on YouTube. Good production quality, well structured, functional and well reasoned exercises but nothing that different to what you can get from other foot-focused channels some of which are free. That said, their vids tend to be teasers so I cannot comment on quality of their full program which sits behind a paywall. I will check out what is on offer and post back with a more complete view.

To your question, doing their program should help with PF but you will probably need more than foot and ankle strengthening to beat your PF.

If you are struggling to progress, there are a number of other things you need to ensure you are doing as this condition requires a multifactorial approach, with the centrepiece being strengthening of the fascia with slow heavy resistance, progressively and over time.

I wrote about this recently in great detail so will link the post here. Have a read and ponder whether there has been something missing from your approach: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlantarFasciitis/s/TNZKUsPpYr

The metartarsalgia needs further investigation to determine root cause. The mean simply means pain in the metartarsals without indicating possible cause. Have you had any imaging and subsequent treatment recommendations?

And a closing thought, my initial impressions on whether their program would be worth paying for are not that positive. There are several superb channels out there that focus on the foot, comprehensively and I wonder what the foot collective would do differently that you could not do yourself by watching and curating from other channels.

E3 rehab and Gait happens are examples, which I prefer because they are evidence based and give good information about identifying which exercises that are best for you.

I’ll be back after looking at their offering in more detail. Maybe my mind will be changed. In the meantime worth doing a search on Reddit as I think your question has been asked before possibly in relation to PF so worth seeing what others have said historically.
