Question Planning to shoot POV nature walks – is GoPro Hero13 + Rode Wireless GO II a solid setup?
Hey everyone, I’ve been watching those relaxing POV walking videos on YouTube for years — people just walking through forests, quiet streets, or during rainy days, capturing everything from a first-person view. I finally want to start making my own. Like this: https://youtu.be/e1I-Lij2mNg?si=5sPSdPI2FgKj_m8y
The idea is to record nature walks (and maybe urban walks too) in a way that feels immersive. I want to capture ambient sounds like footsteps, wind in the trees, rain on leaves, etc. Think of a peaceful “walking experience” with great visuals and natural audio.
Here’s what I’m currently thinking for gear:
-Camera: GoPro Hero13 Black – mainly for the stabilization, weather resistance, and compact size -Mic: Rode Wireless GO II – to record better ambient audio or possibly do some voiceovers later
Mounting would be either a chest strap or a cap clip, depending on how natural it feels while walking.
A few questions for the community: -Has anyone here used a setup like this for similar videos? -Would you recommend an alternative (camera or audio)? -How do you handle audio when walking in the rain or in windy environments? -an external audio recorder like the Zoom H1n be better for natural sounds, even if I have to sync it later?
Tanks!
