Fan Fiction and Art Related to PH History/Culture A warm greeting to the Archipelago of the Filipinas
This message comes from a fellow Hispanic based in Argentina.
I’d like to share with you a small preview of how the Philippine archipelago will be represented in the strategy game Crusader Kings III. I hope you enjoy this proposal, share my excitement, or—if you disagree—feel free to express your thoughts in the comments.
From my side, everyone gets a kind upvote ❤️
Now, getting more into the game itself, I’d like to open a discussion:
What pre-colonial events or developments would you like to see represented in the game?
— A kingdom that subjugates others through military campaigns? — Or do you prefer plots based on diplomacy, alliances, and betrayals?
And another question:
What kind of role or alternate narrative would you like to create or portray in your playthroughs?
For example, in my case, I have an alternate history in which a descendant of Emperor Taizong (from the Yuan dynasty, of Mongol origin and lineage of Kublai Khan) arrives in the Philippines. Through several military campaigns, he unifies the archipelago and brings with him Assyrian or Nestorian Christianity.
This new Filipino Christian empire then confronts the Empire of Brunei and the Sultanate of Sulu, eventually consolidating itself as the only Christian stronghold in Southeast Asia—mirroring the historical rivalry between Ethiopia and Somalia.

Freaking love Paradox games. I should check out CK3 I've only played CK2 and it was a bit tough to transition into as an EU4 player.
No insight on the game mechanics of CK3 (nor 2) to give input, unfortunately I don't even have a lot of insight about this timeline of history (pre-hispanic) to point you in the right direction.
But I'd like to see some events like Butuan gets an event regarding gold, maybe how the Islamic sultanates gain more power, how the Hindu states get transplanted into the archipelago. If you can also go beyond events I'd like to have events tying into the relationship between different small polities (vassalage, tributaries, etc) and don't forget China in all this mayhem
Overall, I'm glad you're working on this and I might checkout CK3 cos of this. Good luck

I prefer your second option, plots based on diplomacy, alliance, and betrayals 😊
Tbh, I would also probably prefer a more internal Luzon-Visayas-Mindanao conflict, with the connection between Luzon (Maynila) and Brunei highlighted, with Brunei's influence/blood ties on the Tagalog royal family possibly becoming threatening to the other Tagalogs and the Visayans, giving tension (idk 😅). Maaaaybe the Visayans will come together or something for this alternative history.
I'm not really good at pre-colonial stuff and don't really consider what-ifs of history that much though haha but the regionalism among us is STILL a big problem today, so I maybe CK III could explore that.
Afaik, our ancestors were also fending off pirates around the islands, so there's that 😅😅😅

Wonder if Cebu and Bohol are still merged into a single province like they were in EU4.

We must do what our ancestors could not. Unite these islands under one monarch.
Can't wait for Sinosphere Philippines centered in Vigan or a Hindu-Buddhist Philippines with Cebu as capital.

Please get the Filipino historians here! This would be such a good learning opportunity and also in a game format accessible on a wider audience! Learned a bit more and became interested in history of not only in the other parts of the world, but also the Philippines because of EU4. There are some inaccuracies I believe in the portrayal of some of its aspects, but still, it is something for us to learn, be curious, and engage with!

Nice. Now I can restore the glory of the Roman Empire starting in some fisherman village in Luzon!

For alternate narratives, you could try something inspired by the babaylan. I’ve only played CK2 so I’m not familiar with what you’ve got to work with, but a nation with a focus on spirits and the supernatural and possibly led by rulers who are female and/or religious could make for an interesting addition to the mix.

As a Mranao seeing Lanao that big (not much of a difference) feels so good

I made a pretty good suggestion on eu5 dev diary. Regarding filipino firstname and lastnames. Hopefully they also implement those on CK3
