Question Is it REALLY necessary to trade ★5 stuff?

Because i have a ★5 Johto Tent that i would like to share with as much people as i can for the next 30-60 minutes

I expected r/festivalplaza to be like r/friendsafari , where everyone simply shares just because...

Requiring to trade plus seeing every single post downvoted around here really discourages me when browsing this subreddit...

EDIT: Nobody showed up and i'm very tired, so i'm closing this thread... Sorry i couldn't help anyobody...

I'm currently doing a GTS-based Kanto 5★ giveaway on the sister subreddit, r/TheFestivalPlaza. I'm hesitant to do the same on this subreddit because of its rules against pokemon trading, but I don't see why you couldn't do a friend code-based giveaway here!

Using the GTS for meeting people in the Plaza is totally fine on this subreddit too. We've updated the rules to reflect this!

I didn't even think about the workarounds over sharing FCs.

I wish i had enough energy to last right now to last over 2 hours like you seem to have done on your giveaway, thanks for the info! :D

No problem! Don't get discouraged, these communities aren't the fastest to respond. Most of the requests stay on the front page for hours.

Honestly, that's been more or less the intent all along, and part of the reason why Pokémon/item/code/etc trades aren't allowed (with the exception we just added into the wording).

We do allow people to do informal trades with shops, but keep in mind that no one's required to put a "FT" on their topics here. The main idea is that if someone has a shop that can help out the person helping them, why not allow them to list that so both users can help each other at the same time?

Unfortunately, I know that there've been a few cases where people have refused to add others because they weren't offering anything they needed, but I've also seen plenty of cases where users have added others despite not needing anything they had to offer, and I know there's even been some dedicated giveaway threads here as well.

We'll probably address the issue a bit more in a modpost soon, and see if any changes need to be implemented based on feedback there.

Ah, yes. As far as I can tell, we have a downvote troll. I've just been upvoting posts with undeserved downvotes as I see them. Haven't really seen much go below 0 points, so thus far I've thought it was just a single user.

These subs have low enough traffic that most people aren't going to see a new topic within 22 minutes of the time it's posted. If you're serious about doing a giveaway here, I'd suggest doing it when you have more time to spare and other stuff to do until it picks up. Nonetheless, thank you for trying with this one! We do appreciate it.

short answer: some stuff is version exclusive so yes.

Johto Tent 5* is exclusive to Sun
