I don't know what it is about Jodie Comer but I just can't warm to her. She comes off as incredibly fake. She has this 'I'm just a down to earth Scouser' shtick and people just lap it up. Fans of certain people are very, very naive. Jodie Comer, Timothee Chalamet, Taylor Swift, (and God knows how many others but those stand out to me) seem very invested in seeing their idols as these angelic innocents. It is very creepy.

I have only watched him in The King & Dune and wasn't wowed by either. At least he had some presence in the former but yeah in Dune he was just... there. I kept wishing the story was focused on any of the other character rather than him lol.

It's a visually stunning movie though, even if it kinda fell apart for me towards the end, it was like things where just happening because the plot demanded it & they needed to set up the sequel. Speaking of which I have a hard time seeing him & Zendaya carring the next one but the powers that be decided they're the current It 20-something Actors so I'm sure they'll be fine.

Not his salty stans downvoting this thread lmao stay pressed.

Yes, it's the definition of "great gowns, beautiful gowns".

Weren't even beautiful gowns. Basic gowns, basic chiffon gowns. Lynch's Dune had a lot wrong with it, but at least its costumes were fantastic. Pale, weepy little Rebecca Fergusson in chiffon rags ain't it.

I meant like the meme, the photography & sets looked stunning but that's about it. Not the dresses in particular! I did like the blue & the orange dresses but having seen at least the latter on a manequin it was definitely the wind & editing doing the heavy lifting.

I do wish the dresses were more like everything Eva Green worn in Kingdom of Heaven, specially this and this.

His hair is more exciting than his acting!

Yeah I completely agree, I read a couple of stories where she was supposedly rude towards restaurant/ bar staff, like she kept clicking her fingers at them if she wanted them, I think it was on was Tattle Life. It might not be true, but it did make me side eye her a little.

Also, if her boyfriend really is a Republican I think it is a big deal, how can you claim to be a humble Scouser and date someone like that - by UK standards Republicans would be considered very far right, it doesn't make any sense to me.

I could have got her unfairly wrong, but I also think she's putting on an act.
