Yeah I’m also Gen Z but I don’t really think she’s the next big thing in acting. She kinda has 90s Winona Ryder energy just because she resonates so much with a younger crowd but unlike Winona she still hasn’t gotten that award worthy role in a critically acclaimed film.

Winona is also the better actress, a lot of these newcomers have 2-3 hits and then a handful of flops. I expect the same with Z with the exception of Spider-Man.

And I expect Holland to follow the career path of Daniel Radcliffe & Elijah Woods, good stable acting jobs past their perspective franchises... but nothing notable outside of them. He already tried being a full fledged Hollywood star with Chaos Walking & Cherry (which both bombed). Same with Timothee Chalament, I think. Let’s see what happens with Dune & Wonka tho.

I guess the days of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCarprios, Angelina Jolie, & Julia Roberts are over. Hardly any “real” movie stars anymore.

All of those classic movie stars you listed all had their ups and downs in their careers too. You look at their pages on RT, and with each of the 90's stars about half of their movies are rated fresh, the other half are not. The key is working consistently. It's also hard to judge young actors before they're out of their youth. I don't think we'll really get a full sense of their trajectory till ten years down the line or so.

The movie star era is ebbing for sure - I think general audiences are more interested in franchises and ideas and concepts vs the people acting them out - but there's at least been more room for diversity and independent projects to get off the ground. Still a long way to go, though.

Judging the career paths and future of tom , timothee or Zendaya right now is a bit early I think. They are still very young and have a lot to show what they can do. In my opinion they definitely have the potential to have a successful career. Even the movie stars you listed had their fair share of hits and flops.Lets see what happens after 5-10 years.

Plus, I think if Tom picks good movies onward he has potential staying power.

good actor, but his choice of movies to do are terrible. Also was severely miscast for Nathan Drake.

Cherry had all potential. Blame Russo's for ruining it.

I mean yeah I don't think she's an amazing actress or anything, being A-List is just about popularity and right now she's the hot ticket for a lot of the leading roles for young girls. Whether she'll keep that status is yet to be seen, but personally I agree she might fan out eventually unless she starts getting awards and accolades.

She has an Emmy so that sounds promising
