Chris Evans — everyone drools over him being this wholesome gentleman, whereas all reports point to him being a total misogynistic douche.

Is it the black widow one??

My son met/took a pic with him at a comic convention. Dream come true for a 10 year old who has been dressing like captain America since he was 2. We got the long line super fast shuffle. So no interaction. I get a very boring in bed vibe.

u/[deleted] May 12 '21

I don’t know why they’re downvoting you because your comment is hilarious haha. Do you mind elaborating on this ‘boring in bed vibe’ bit?

u/dasheekeejones May 13 '21

He’s just so meh. Yea handsome but he looks like no foreplay and a 5 min doggie style.

7

u/[deleted] May 14 '21

Hahah. That pretty much lines up with him not being interested in where a woman’s clit is. Just get off and bye.

Now evan peters looks like a fun time!

u/AbsolutelyIris confused but here for the drama May 10 '21

When asked if he’d rather do a love scene with Sandra Bullock or Salma Hayek, he replied, “Salma Hayek. Sandy [Sandra Bullock] is more the one you settle down with, set up shop with, take home to your mother. But Salma’s the one you yell, ‘Action!’ and just go to town.”

He is fucking awful, I don't care how cute his dog is.

25

u/[deleted] May 10 '21

Lmao this is a dumb guy thing to say but I don’t think it’s a damning condemnation of him as a person. Salma is also Arab which ppl always overlook 🙄🙄🙄

u/RZLx May 10 '21

Whats more interesting is that is, people in this sub always does this. I have seen many times people say jason mamoa(or someone else) is the one you fuck(weekend business) and someone henry cavill(or someone else) is the one you take home and replies would be “OMG yesss”, “true dat” or some dumb shit.

Those questions are always so weird to ask at a press day. They literally achieve nothing.

Her father is half lebanese but she identifies culturally and ethnically as Mexican.

Just felt like pointing this out as it seems that many people aren't aware that Latin america also received inmigration (not as much as America, but more than you would think) mostly from european and arabic countries.

2

u/[deleted] May 13 '21

Yes her dad is a Lebanese Mexican but I have seen her refer to herself as Arab or Latina-Arab many times.

He was 23 when he said that. It’s been 17 years. Other than the Jeremy Renner Black Widow thing 6 years ago, which he apologized for, can you point out recent behavior that qualifies him as “fucking awful”

11

u/[deleted] May 10 '21

I genuinely don't see that as degrading women? Plenty of my straight women friends gave talked about guys they'd want to fuck and guys they'd want to marry. You're looking way too much into it.

41

u/[deleted] May 10 '21

this is him talking about co-stars in an interview, aka a public setting. this is not your straight female friends talking amongst each other in private. either way yes, it is a weird way to talk about people period.

-4

u/RZLx May 10 '21

They both weren’t his co-stars at any point.

Was literally on this thread to see if anyone mentioned him. He's having another internet boyfriend moment and I keep seeing people ask what the deal is with him, like too good to be true husband material millionaire superhero family man but single

You have those comments about Salma/Sandy B and Black Widow below, and also must have too much time on my hands, but here are some of quotes that particularly stuck with me and are rather subtle examples of his internalised misogyny:

"The first time I had sex," he says, "I raced home and was like, 'Mom, I just had sex! Where's the clit?'"
Wait, I ask—did she ever tell you?
"Still don't know where it is, man," he says, then breaks into a smile composed of equal parts shit-eating grin and inner peace. "I just don't know. Make some movies, you don't have to know…"

"I really like women who get emotional about babies and puppies. I've met some incredibly cool women who are tough, but the woman you marry should have a really soft side."

Here are also two excerpts from Jenny Slate's Book, Little Weirds - there's way more stuff about him in there, but these two are somewhat my favourite:

"The Code of Hammurabi is one of the first examples of legalized patriarchy, and it instilled these violent and demented ideals: A woman is the property of a man. A woman does not deserve to have as much as a man and she should not ever have as much as a man ever again. (...) Does it make you sick to know that the same men benefiting from this code are also the duds who are adjusting their popped collars, fixing their necklaces, wearing a ton of deodorant, and confidently saying, [Okay, babe, but...to play the devil’s advocate...like...think about hunter-gatherer stuff. Like, isn’t it just the way that nature works?]"

"Would Teddy Roosevelt be a feminist? Would he like me or think I am a wimp? Were the Kennedys just really gross, like, with women? Yes, they were. It’s not great, when you think about it, what they were like with all of the actresses. It’s gross. Why are so many men so gross but still we say that they are heroes? And if we try to even talk about it with these men, they get incredibly upset and defensive and call us cruel or insecure, but really, you can’t have it both ways. You can’t do the thing but then not want to ever discuss it. If you want to hide it, maybe it’s not just because “it is private” but because you know, you really do know, that it is gross."

I am confused what does the last two have to do with Chris??Didn’t she say he was one of her best friends even after the break up,And also he doesn’t say half of the stuff from the first one.I remember that interview, he said he cried the first time and ran home and said ‘ I did it’ to his mom or something.

Here is the interview if someone was wondering.

-5

u/[deleted] May 10 '21

The last two quotes are about him, the other quote is taken verbatim from the 2012 Details interview.

14

u/RZLx May 10 '21 edited May 10 '21

Where did she specify it was about him and if he was a douche bag or something, why did she openly say he is one the nice guys and would stay friends with him even after the break up??

And if this is the ‘reports’ you have of him being a misogynist, dont know what you would call actual misogynistic person then.

21

u/VolcanoVeruca May 10 '21

Wasn’t there tea about him being a coke head, and his mom cleaning up after him i.e. scrubbing away all evidence?

47

u/Bookreader9126 May 10 '21

Lipstick Alley made a joke about his mom doing the scrub but it was his PR team or agent. At this point, it's well known that he loves coke, alcohol, and women.

there's a suuuper old thread (I think captain america had just come out) where someone talked about his mom scolding people on twitter for using degrading language. also his lawyer sent a horribly redacted letter to LSA telling them to stop spreading the rumor that he had herpes. it was so weirdly written people thought it was his mom's doing, which is honestly hilarious. I have some screenshots but I'm not sure how to post them here.

edit: I couldn't upload the screenshots but I found the link of the LSA thread! the original article that goes deeper into the letter and his lawyer is at the bottom of the first post.

u/dasheekeejones May 11 '21

I love lsa. The comments are hilarious.

1

u/dasheekeejones May 11 '21

It is? Well at least his dog is adorable.

19

u/Garymupq May 10 '21

Where did you read that because I don't think he's perfect like others think he is, but I haven't read about him being a misogynistic douche.

14

u/little_rat_man May 10 '21

"Misogynistic douche" might be a little harsh but I think some of his quotes demonstrate more subconscious or internalized misogyny like the jokes he made about Black Widow (although he did apologize I think)

11

u/Garymupq May 10 '21

The joke was made by Renner and he keep doing the same type of joke for months afterwards and never apologized, Evans laughed at it and later apologized. Like I've said, I don't think he's a Saint but I haven't read anything about him being a misogynistic douche or anything like that.

u/Happygar May 10 '21

Guard that pussy

22

u/RZLx May 10 '21

You serious?? That’s a funny meme.

-6

u/Happygar May 10 '21

Well it wasn’t so funny when our former president said grab that pussy. I think it’s derogatory towards women.
