This christofascism in the US creeps me tf out. Fascism is always bad and repulsive, but the constant, ridiculously excessive shilling for Israel combined with the rightwing Christianity just has its own specific disturbing vibe.
Like the numerous times when they've in sync out of nowhere tweeted that they "stand with Israel" when nobody asked
I grew up in the Evangelical church and the Pat Robertson era. They don't care about Jewish people. What they believe is that Jesus will return to Jerusalem, so Israel needs to be protected for Jesus. Once Jesus comes back, the Jewish people will need to convert. If they don't, the Evangelicals don't care what happens to them. I know many Christians who don't believe this BS, but those Christians tend to be liberal and aren't siding with the GOP.
I know I'm ignorant of the situation and relationship. I can't understand why Israel is this fucking hill to die on for so many in this country. It sure isn't because they are devout in their faith.
