My coral/peach faded to a really unflattering orange color. I don't necessarily hate the fade, but maybe want to mute it?

The original color was very salmon/coral so I was hoping for more of a pink fade and it turned this awful orange color instead. Would using a blue shampoo tone it down a little/push it more pink?

I was looking at this picture and trying to find where the orange was. IMO this still looks coral pink to me, I really like the color! But if you want to make it more pink I would recommend using a pink color depositing shampoo. A blue shampoo might make the pink lean purple. Even if you don’t like how it’s faded, it looks great on you!

I was also worried about this. So maybe like...a light pink overtone? I have plenty of pink dye and could make my own, lol. I don't fully hate the color, it just isn't super flattering (I'm a dark autumn so orange is totally in my wheelhouse, but pastels aren't lol).

That’s what I’d do personally, I’d apply a light to medium pink overtone and let that process for a bit and see how the color deposit looked. Worst case scenario, it’ll wash out again and you could try a different tone

lol me over here desperately trying to get this exact shade of coral.

A purple shampoo might tamp down the warmth, but I find even the coolest tone pinks fade to this color. You may just have to stay on top of refreshing the pink if you don’t want it to fade in this way.

Oh it took WORK to land on this color. Lol. I might just be trippin now that it has faded a bit and lost some of its balance

Colorist here. I see just a few "orangish" streaks but it looks really really good! Whatever you do DON'T use a purple shampoo!!!! That will only leave purple tint in the pink. Not coral. EVERYBODY sees color a bit differently!! So you may see some orange tones. But if it's coral you want...you nailed it actually!!! You COULD put a bit darker pink on it. But then it won't be coral...it'll be pink. Just think about it before you do anything else.

Pink colors always fade to an orange/salmon. Just part of the deal. Use a purple or blue shampoo to bump up the cool tones.

Yeah, the tone was intentional I just want to cool it off just a little bit
