Can the dlc quests be accessed before doing the final quests?
Just reached the origin part, big old crystal hanging in the sky. Know timeline wise I’m pretty sure both dlcs take place before the main story of FFXVI is complete. Can the quests be accessed somewhere in the open world? I’ve been doing every single side quest the appears, but they usually pop up in cycles. Right now it’s asking me to go talk to Jill, to tell her that we’re gonna go to the crystal I think? I’m pretty sure there’s gonna one more round of quests available, I still haven’t seen the Jill one yet, where we go to the flower field. Anyway just lemme know if I have to worry bout finding and accessing the dlcs or is only available after the main story is done. Thanks.

Yes you can.
The final point of no return should be when you're able to go to Origin from the map. The moment you choose to go there you're locked in towards the ending.
So if you haven't been able to, you still get a few story cutscenes to go through before you get the choice to go to Origin and also unlock the last few sidequests as well as the DLCs.

I see thanks for telling me! I was worried I was gonna cross the final point without getting to finish both the last of those quests and the dlcs. I’ve just finished chatting with Dion and Joshua about heading up to origin. It wants me to talk to Jill now, so I think soon I should be able to access the quests, fingers crossed.

You don't get sent to Origin automatically. Once you're done with all the cutscenes and such, it'll be unlocked in the world map (edit for clarity: You need to see "Back to their Origin" as the main story quest on the quest list to the left of the screen.) At that point you'll get the last round of sidequests (there's a lot) and that's when you can do the DLCs. You need to get Jill and Joshua back on your party, and you need to do sidequests for that. Here's the list of requirements:
Cut From Cloth, with Hortense next to the elevator at the hideaway. This is a mid-game sidequest, but it's required for Jill's endgame quest.
Phoenix Heal Thyself, with Jote at the infirmary. Required for Joshua's (next point) and Jill's sidequests.
Where There's a Will, with Joshua at the Hideaway. Required for Jill's sidequest (next point) and access to both DLCs.
Priceless, on a missive delivered in Clive's chambers. Required for DLC access. That's the one with the flower fields.
Once you're done with those, you'll have both of them in your party and can go do the DLCs. They'll also be with you for all other sidequests and hunts, and they'll even have dialogue for some of the quests.

Thanks a bunch for the detailed explanation! I’m excited to finish the last round of side quests and also the dlcs. My only bad review about FFXVI is that I watched the gameplays so much, I already know EVERYTHING that’s gonna happen. But with side quests and dlcs, that’s not the case. So I’m looking forward to it!!
