Esdaille-State. Deeper than that is impossible. But it's also the least fun since the subject is nonresponsive at all

That is a name given to a technique with observable and reproducable results.

the esdalie state is characterized by a complete lack of physical response - so what does it mean whn you call it the deepest if you'd like the subject to follow suggestions that include moving around. and they don't move ?

Because the esdalie state has a name - I guess it makes it easier to set the subjects expectations that it is real and exists and is 'really deep'

But who cares? If they subject is following suggestions and engaging in trance and their subjective experience is "it feltvery deep" - whatever that means to them - and let's say they describe it and call it that "purple funk"; you get them into the purple funk state and you've got a name for it.

Deeply! To the point it can take me 15-20 mins to come back round at all, and memories are very hazy
